Up for sale is a terrific example of Cooper's engineering. The 57M is widely known to be one of the most accurate factory .22lr rifles made. Sadly, Cooper has discotinued the 57M so now is your opportunity to get ahold of one. This one has been gently used and well taken care of. The stainless steel barrel is 24" long and is equipped with a clamp on Harrels Tuner. The stock is a Bell and Carlson benchrest model which was designed specifically for the 57M and is black in color. Sitting on top of the receiver is a Leupold 40x45 Competition Scope with a sunshade. The scope has faint ring marks but will not effect the function in any way. Sitting under the receiver is a Jard trigger which is set very light for benchrest shooting. Some models were shipped from the factory with Jard trigger. This one was not and will come with the original factory trigger as well. The rifle will ship in a new hard plastic case for protection and will only ship to an FFL. Cost of shipping is $100 for the lower 48 states unless prohibited by law. I am not a dealer, so please make sure your FFL will receive a shipment for a non dealer. $2600 Payment to be made with Postal Money Order. right broadsidedown.jpgLeft side of receiverdown.jpgright forwarddown.jpgscrew-on tunedownr.jpgleft rear down.jpgleft closeupdown.jpg

Hi
may I ask if the stock appears painted as under the impression they only used green stocks as I have a couple

Just asking or curious, perhaps the first run of 50 were black ?

my buddy who might remember when we got these jas recently passed away so I cant ask him

The stock doesn’t appear to be painted. I’ve seen more than one on gunbroker.com. That were black as well. This one is numbered number 76 so it is a very early model. I’ve not seen any mention on some of the forums that I’ve looked at to find out When they were green and when they were black.

As requested...... a few more photos. A bit of interesting information is that TRP-3 stands for Target Rifle Project-Phase Three.

I’ll have to remove the stock to determine that for sure, I’m just getting ready to eat so give me a few hours and I’ll get back with you.

How do you think the Cooper compares to the 2500?
It’s a production based action made into a BR gun. That said, they were always decent for what they are, was aimed at primarily at club shooters.
There is zero comparison to a 2500 particularly with ignition .
