Wow What A Weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 2025 Laura Kauger Memorial Sharp Shooter Showdown is in the books and oh my was it not a blast.
The event really started on Monday of last week when shooters started coming in and trying to tame the RWB. By Thursday the range was packed with the BEST LONG RANGE SHOOTERS in the country trying to take home some serious cash.
Friday was the Tactical and Pistol Part of the Event It was a battle all the way to the end with Scott Spelbring taking the top honors in tactical class Scott had a 4.331 Group Agg and a 377 score agg over 4 600 yard agg 4 1000 yard Targets and then he had to survive the 1000 yard shoot off. Scott was shooting a 6 Dasher.
Best score/group target went to Ronnie Milford in 1000 yards with a 50 3.046
Best Combined Target at 600 yards went to The Squirrel, it was a 48/.0946

The pistol class was new this year and I have to say it was amazing to see how well these pistols really shoot at long range. When the smoke or should I say Fog cleared it was James Maxson winning over Ronnie Milford. James 8 target agg was an 8.028 and he won 1000 yard shoot off to claim The Cash. James was shooting Rem xp 100 on a Rockwell stock shooting Wheeler Bullets.

Saturday Morning started of Slow Muggy and Foggy but when the fog lifted the RWB team went to work and made-up time to still be done by 4. Special Thanks to everyone that made this happen.

When we finally got started conditions where not the best, I have ever seen but they were not the worst either, but it was obvious that the shooters where prepared as they came out shooting small groups and high scores. In 600 yards it was 2024 Sharpshooter Champion Stevie Salter leading the way with Group and Score John Anderson, Mike Wilson and The Big Texan Jason Chancey making him work hard for it.
Best Target Shot at 600 was by Mike Wilson with a nice 50/.724.
We finished up at 600 and went into 2 targets at 1000.
Saturday Night was just a all-out great time. All the matches before this have all been great but I have to say this was by far the best group we have ever had at the RWB everyone was so fun. We all laugh told jokes and stories probably a few untruths but that's fun too. For a lot it was there first time to the RWB, and we hope you all had as much fun as we did.
The food that was prepared by Tator's Bar and Grill and paid for by VAPOR TRAIL BULLETS was absolutely fabulous Thanks to the whole crew at Tator's Bar and Grill.
Well Sunday morning was a beautiful start no fog some may have been feeling a little foggy but the range and weather where ready to wrap this show up.
After 4 1000-yard targets it was Pas Chuck Napikoski (one of the best men in this sport) and Florida's very own Bill Davis at the top of the 1000-yard list.
Best target was shot by Benny Steelman with a nice 50/2.670
The it was time to see how all this works out for the top 15 it was Chuck Napikoski winning the overall for 8 targets and getting the bye to the Championship round at 1000.
The guys where up to the task we had seen just for fun call outs, and we see strategy come into play as the call outs began it was pretty clear that no one wanted to call out Stevie Salter or Mark Niezabitowski so when it was all clear Mark and Stevie would battle it out again.
The winners were
Will Watkins (WV) Logan Web (WV FL) Garrett Watkins (WV) Mark Niezabitowski (FL), Mike Wilson (GA) David Kieffer (PA) Bill Davis (FL) Chuck Napikoski (PA) advancing into the 1000 yard shoot off for the $$.
After some disscusion on taking the running part out of the event the TOP 8 sat down and got serious for the forst time all weekend it was going to be a fight to see who would take the Sharpshooter 2025 honors home after a few side bets where complete it was time to make it happen and they did just that and when it was all said and done it was THE MAN FROM WILLIAMSPORT PA laying down the Best 1000 yard Group. Of 3.319 beating out the hard fighting Bill Davis who had a 3.946.
Chuck was shooting a Bat B Action with a Brux Barrell with 103 Vapor Trails with n140 powder with fed 205 primers gun was built by Mike Redin and was shooting off a Randolph rest.
Congratulations chuck you are the 2025 Sharp Shooter Showdown Champion.

Larry, Alex Wheeler came in the same way you did the first time BUT he didn't complain at all :p
First time I came in Al was driving. I was a passenger looking over the muddy, steep banks and ditches we were close to sliding down. It was hunting season and even a lone hunter was standing along the road wondering why we were there.

I struggle to drive today so if I ever returned it would be as a passenger like Big John.
