Remmy 572. Fieldmaster.

Thinkin i need to upgrade to a 1" tube.

Looks like a weaver , engraved weaver. 3/4" tube from the 80's.

Thinking thermal?

Or a good quality optic so i can just use the moon.

Coon hunting

Try posting under the rimfire smallbore section or a hunting section I think you will get better results. I have never been coon hunting. FWIT The scope pictured looks like a weaver v-22 had one in the 70's.

Coon hunting is very short range and usually at night. Something like a 1-3 variable with heavy duplex would be my choice. Add a light with momentary switch and you’re set.

On a classic rifle like that one, I would still want a smaller scope with clean lines, but I am being nostalgic.

Is that receiver drilled for a Pic-rail mount? If it is, then you can run without worrying about dovetail rings for your bigger scope tube.

Be picky with the rings for dovetail. Many of those kinds of dovetail rings for one inch tubes are such low quality that they can cause issues with mounting bigger scopes on these classic rifles.

The older I get the more I like an illuminated dot or cross hair for low light (woods) hunting. The 1-4, 1-6 ranges seem to work best for me.
