Well I don't hunt Whitetail, but do Muley's in my state and with the lead free ammo we must use on game I shoot the Barnes 120 SSTX BT. Five muley's fallen to that bullet with one shot kills, placed in the lung/heart area and not move further than 20 yrd after the hit, some dropped in their tracks. It flat out works for me anyway. Range of those deer have been from about 80 to 250 yrds.
I can see that 120gr being an excellent choice.

140 accubonds and 142 LR accubonds are the bullet of choice, we’ve used 143 ELDX, 140 Berger Elites with good success too. Most of our deer hunting is done out west where the shots tend to be longer, all of those bullets have done a good job but the accubonds are the current favs.

I loaded the 142lr with RL16 for 2792 speed but never saw the type of buck I wanted to shoot . Very nice looking Bullet.

I took a 6.5 CM with Federal Premium ammo loaded with the Berger 130 grain OTM bullet to Africa several years ago. I was too busy to load for my 6.5-284 and the little Sako shot the factory ammo so well, I was comfortable using it. Everything dropped at the shot including several wildebeest and kudu. I, along with the PH's, were impressed with the performance of the round and the bullet out to reasonable distances of 350 yards or so. It didn't work well on a huge eland bull though but that's a story for another time.
