Redding company

LE Wilson… you’re welcome.
They sent me a bushing that was .001" undersized and shaved brass from the necks. I sent them pictures of the problem. I was told that I had to pay to ship it back and if they found a problem they would replace it.

I had to have my .223 Redding Competition Seater sent in for warranty repair twice. The seating stem cracked seating Sierra 77's to 2.250 over 24 grains of RL15. After the second repair Redding sent a note with the die saying they would no longer warrant the die as I was abusing it seating heavy bullets over heavy powder charges. BS! I switched to a Forster Competition Seater and never looked back. Never bought another Redding die either.

Agree, over the years RCBS has been the best one to solve and give customers great service and replacements, with no further cost, even shipping.

Years ago, I acquired a LYMAN Spar-T Reloading Kit that had been shipped with the wrong handle. When I finally realized that the linkage was a transition from the old to the new, I called Lyman and they sent me the correct handle. The lady that answered the phone new exactly what I was talking about too. I don't know how well their customer service is now.

RCBS sent me a new Uniflow Powder Hopper.

Redding replaced two dies for me, one was a standard seating die when it should have been a Pro-Series, the other was a .38 Super Carbide die the case kept hitting the die in a Dillon 550, not occasionally but way too often. I Mic'ed the carbide ring and determined it was out of spec. New die works just fine.

Are you saying Redding doesn't make quality stuff?
Let me add some clarification. I would not categorize Reddings rifle dies as precision. In my experience, the dimensions of their dies vary widely as do the accuracy of their neck bushings. If you doubt this, just check them with a pin gauge. I would not considered them in the same category at Short Action Customs, Cortina Precision, Bullet Central Micro Dies, Harrells Precion, Widden, ect...

That being said, I have a full selection of Redding handgun reloading dies where precision is not as critical.

I've always had good luck with Redding. L. E. Wilson is near by and is also wonderful to deal with. A Redding phone person told me to buy from a company that did less volume of business to speed delivery of their products. I think it was 'special order' or 'back order' item. Customer service is very important to me, either groceries or guns. I won't tolerate poor service. Lots of 'turn over' of employees says poor management and training.

I forgot to mention that Dillon has treated me well too.

I asked Redding about a specific die, and they found one for me and sent me a link to it.

Redding could give lessons in customer service. I cannot imagine me buying any other die after two separate issues I had resolved by them with absolutely no --not even a hint of a hassle.
This is good to hear, I love my Redding dies
On Par with my Forster's
I have one that is chamfered at the bottom to allow easy case insertion
but does not size the head portion back to spec due to this
I wonder if they would correct this by making me a NON Chamfered die
I think I'll check it out after reading your post

Only ever had 3 problems I sent stuff in for, or asked about, 1 that I shud do, haven't got around to yet. Bushnell for a cheapy 22 scope, they replaced it( 40ish yrs ago), a die button from RCBS, they sent me one (35+ yrs ago) and a Lyman LE1000 elec scale that was 2yrs(?) out of warr (300.00 or so in 1990ish), asked about repair, gun fell, caught the cord, slammed it on the floor---they said send it, they replaced it. I have a Hornady trim/prep ctr I shud take in to the dist, but, trim side will not stay put on lengths. Dist who handles is not far away, but, keep forgetting about taking it in.
