Broken carrier on Rossi 62sa

This might need to be in the gunsmithing section. This morning the neighbors dog killed Pete our beagle this and I had to put him down. It sux but dogs will be dogs. Kids are heart broken and I used the Rossi with some aguila subsonic so it would be quite while my son and I buried him and would be less painful for his sisters to not hear the gun fire. The carrier on this rifle broke during this and everyone seems to be out of stock. The round slips inside it and is brought up from the tube position to the chamber. Ive thought about brazing but it would have to be nice and smooth as it has to fit in the bolt assembly as it slides. I'm betting a Taurus replacement carrier would work but I'm sure they won't sell me one and tell me all parts for the Rossi are discontinued. This rifle is pure memories and sentimental not really with much to anyone else. Anyone know of a smith or good metal worker that might make the repair?

What a sad story. If my shop was still open I'd repair for free. Then you could put the $100 gunsmithing charge toward another dog for those kids.

PS: I had a serious heart attack three weeks ago. If I'm still around this summer, and have my shop open, I'll do the repair. (I'm a professional smith)

there’s one on eBay for you. There’s also some available threw Homestead gun parts if the cost is worth it for you.]
