.22LR revolver

I also read the above post on RFC after I purchased my new 6" King Cobra. My Gun was very hard to eject empty casings from the spool out of the box. The empty casing felt like they were dragging in the spool. I am new to pistols, but I do know a new gun needs to be cleaned thoroughly before using. I cleaned the bore thoroughly with Bore Tech Rimfire blend and a 22 cal. bronze brush thinking that was all that was needed. Having experience with centerfire casing sticking in the chamber when I was young, due to not knowing how to clean properly (I cleaned guns how my dad taught me to :() I got the Bore Tech and bronze brush back out and thoroughly cleaned each of the ten chambers of the spool and anything else I hadn't cleaned. The revolver ejects very smoothly now. I really like the trigger as well as the factory open sights.
I really enjoy shooting this revolver now and to my eyes the looks are second to none. Including my Ruger and Smiths.

1. I really don't need the xtra horsepower of the .22WMR for killing tree squirrels. (damages more meat if I hit the body)
2. More inherent accuracy of the .22LR
3. Safer shooting up into trees and missing the animal. The LR bullet won't fly as far as the WMR bullet.
4. I can't see me taking shots at a tree rats head longer than 50 yards.

What is the power level of 22 WMR shot out of a handgun as compared to HV 22 LR fired out of a rifle? I thought I looked into that and discovered that they are about the same, but I honestly don't remember for certain.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I'd think that they are pretty close in velocity. Good point.
 
In the 80's I owned a 6" Diamondback which I enjoyed shooting. I then acquired a new gun-shop client who offered me a 6" M17 at a really great price. When I shot it I was really impressed. Later he showed me a used 6" 17 with TT and TH that had had an action job by a very competent gun-smith. When I shot it I was blown away by how unbelievably smooth and crisp it was. It was head and shoulders above the Diamondback, so I sold the Diamondback.
My son who was 8 or 10 at the time and was a pretty good shot could hit a Coke can and as the can flew up into the air hit it with the nexr 5 shots as it was fleying~!

I wouldn't let the lock stop you, I removed it from 617 10 shot,686+ in first 10 minutes that I owned them. You'll never remember they were there.
 
We went to local auction- guy was old school gun man--There were over 100 SW revolvers!
They went hard and fast so I guess there is still much love for them--but my local gun shop does not seem to sell many anymore.
Hate to say it but I just Love my $99 Heritage 22's Bring one home--Loctite all of the screws and blast away! I keep one with 22 mag cylinder full of snake shot by the back porch door
No better than I can shoot a 22 pistol they are just Fun for the $$
They remind me of the old HR 22's --every uncle I had- owned one of those so that is where I got my start--Gotta love a 22 revolver!
 
I have a Colt Officer Match 22lr. Very accurate, but I'll never understand why Colt made such an ill designed grip. To be comfortable it needs a T grip or some oversized stocks.
