Using RL15 in the M14?

Wanting to try RL15 and 155 nosler custom comps in a M14.
Good or bad ideal?

I’ve done it with 168’s a lot but prefer one of the 4895’s

Hornady [EDIT} lists it for 308 service rifle so I think you should be OK if you stay within the velocity recommended for the 150/155 gn bullets which is in the 2700-2750 fps max.

Cool I just loaded 100 rds to try the next time on the bench.

I've used it a lot it with that bullet, producing the best groups of any powder tried. The Reloader 15 also excelled in my rifle with Sierra 168 MK's. Another powder that worked real good for me with that 155 CC is N140

That was not the original M118LR, at 2700fps, that bent op rods. The powder charge was lowered.

Yeah. It was the 7.62 LR military propellant for some time... despite it's huge temp sensitivity over IMR 4064.

I'm 4064 all day with 155 TMKs for gas gun ammo. But there's plenty of powder choices out there.

It has changed multiple times and lowered after the m14's were put back into service for OEF. Pretty sure the "original" m118 was safe.

RL15 worked Excellent for me in my M1A supermatch a number of years back with the 168SMK.
My go to load was 40.5-41.5 depending on the temp and HUM on a giving day. Using IMI match brass
