I have several Boyd's laminated stocks on my savage rifles. They have always fit well with a decent finish.Ya know....
Boyds does make more than just thumbhole stocks.
I tried really hard to buy a semi-fancy grade wood stock from Richards Microfit for my large ring Mauser. I left voicemail and emailed them. Someone finally reached out to me by email after 8pm. We went back and forth because I wanted a left hand cheek swell monte carlo style, with right hand bolt. The communications were always sent at night. I couldn't get a straight answer on how I was going to pay them. Finally, after about 30 days, they sent an invoice, saying my stock was ready, but it went to spam and I never saw it until weeks later. If you don't mind doing work on it to make it YOURS, think Richard's Micro-Fit stocks. Got prices and selections that outshines most everybody.
At times they may have issues but, out of the 10 or so I have/have had, only one wasn't worth keeping. Somebody else wanted it more than I did, even in it's condition.![]()

It would help to know your hole spacing -- your approximate hole spacing of 4 3/8"could easily be either. 4.27 or 4.4. The 4.27 hole spacing had a magazine box semi-permanently attached to the receiver, whereas the 4.4 magazine was installed in the stock for a blind magazine and was later available in a detachable mag. and also hinged floorplate version. If it's a 4.27 Mod. 12 with a blind magazine, I have both the BVSS and the VLP brown laminated factory varmint stocks for this action -- PM if interested in one.I’d like suggestions for a replacement stock for an older Savage model 12, right bolt, magazine fed, ready to drop in, no thumb holes. The screws measure approximately 4 3/8” . I would prefer a laminated stock. Thanks for your reply.
