$2,000 each rifle.
Posting this for a friend. Belongs to a former member of the U.S. Palma Team. There are four rifles in total, all are clones with the exception of chambering. The chamberings include 308 win (qty 2), 6.5-47L, and 6.5 WSSM. The 6.5 WSSM comes with reloading dies and a scope rail. I have additional 308 size bolt heads available so if you buy the WSSM let me know if you want an additional bolt head. I also have firing pins and redfield sight mounts for the Gilkes and will include them with the purchase of each rifle if you cover the cost of shipping.
The rifles are all Gilkes steel action. Right handed. Round count unknown. Anschutz 5018 trigger. They were used for NRA highpower 1000yd competition.
The Gilkes actions are extremely robust and feature a 3-lug bolt with rear bolt lugs at a 45 degree angle rather than perpendicular to the bolt raceway. This allows the bolt to self-center on the angled lugs and achieve more even distribution of stress on the three lugs.
The action also has a 45 degree cone that is between the bolt face and the back of the barrel threads. This eliminates the need for a “shoulder crush” between the front of the action and barrel. It also increases the surface area that supports the barrel resulting in less torque required when installing a barrel.
Lastly, there is approximately 1.5” of tread length inside the Gilkes actions for barrel installation which means that it has about twice as much contact with the barrel as a Rem700.
