Bolt action pistol build

So far I've acquired an altas tactical lefty action and a porksword chassis. Still gotta decide on a barrel and cartridge. Leaning on 6br since I already have a couple barrel blanks. But i did aquire some peterson 7br brass. So 7br is on the list. Hoping to go pickup a used nightforce nxs 3.5-15 scope.

Here is one of many i have. This one is a 6.5x284 i built but i have them from 221 fb to 300wsm the paper target the final 10 shots at 600 was 5 inches and got me second place at a fclass shoot. My dad shoots a 280 ai on a kauger left port left bolt action with coned bolt face it works really well. I have built a few on kauger actions i really like both them and mack bros for my actions. The barrel all depends on what im doing with it my bench guns are normally full bull for heavy gun light class is a #4ish i have a fluted light palma coming in 6mm im going to build one for light class in our shoots here in wyoming if i can get it to make weight. Im also waiting on a barrel to build a 338 whisper in a xp100. 1000005111.jpg

For the Savage/MDT stocked version:

Just remove the buffer tube? Shorten the forend?

I have a left handed Savage that needs a pistol stock.....

Top bolt release??? The only difference in the earlier Savage actions is the length and what side the bolt handle comes out on. You CAN use a right hand stock, plug the right side bolt handle cut and re cut it on the left side. More stock designs to choose from that way. :) ;)

Yes, top bolt release. I have an Element 3.0 that would be perfect. It's ambi, so a simple plug removal and shift to the other side. Will have to play with the forend length. I knew I was saving that left handed action for something.................Thanks.

That was kind of for everyone looking to put one together. Stupid rules.
Would have been easy to build some nice IHMSA guns off of Remington rifle actions back in the day.
I thought that, and good of you to remind everyone (and me) of the stupid rules. Ridiculous. And they're not even supposed to make the 'rules.'

Ok, enough of that. Back to some good looking pistols.....

Sold my XP back in mid-90's, sort of regret that one.

Best thing about buying them as actions you can make them pistols. Mack brothers also makes a light weight action that's under 20 oz that helps with ihmsa. I wish there was more ihmsa shoots around still!

Don't forget the rules for making a pistol out of a rifle action. Not that ATF would ever be looking.
If you're playing with a Remington XP 100 action, it's a pistol and always will be, no matter how long the barrel is.
Anything else, 16" barrel and 26" overall, no matter what it looks like, it's still a rifle. Get and keep the paperwork with you to avoid and issues.
Even the folks that write the rules don't know what they say. :(
