6GT NK dia

The NK dia on the GA precision reamer is . 273”. What is the NK diameter on your loaded brass from Alpha, Hornady, and Lapua?

It’s going to be all over the map regardless who it comes from. Yes, generally, a particular brand will fall “about” this diameter, but it varies 1-2 thousandths from time to time.

As I said before, you need to have your Lapua brass in hand before getting your Reamer. This is the only way to know.

If you’re using alpha brass, get alpha’s reamer. Tom at Alpha specifically told me that the GAP Reamer, based on converted 6.5x47, doesn’t work with their brass and you’ll need the updated Alpha SAAMI reamer.

So your options are Alpha reamer paired with Alpha brass (I had to neck turn one batch because I only had .002 clearance) or wait for the Lapua and have a reamer made. If you buy an alpha reamer, it’s up to dumb luck whether or not Lapua will work optimally in that chamber.

Had mine done with a GA reamer .273 I full length size all Hornady brass no problem chambering. I used the Alex Wheeler method to find proper bump.
