I don't know how they did it with your son. With me they made the incision from my diaphragm to below my belly button. I was on my back for a whole week. His recovery must be going great. The best of wishes.

Not sure about the incision at all. Have not asked yet. I have limited my time speaking with him due to not wanting to keep him on the phone long. I'm sure he will tell me about it soon. It must have been different than yours as he was able to get up and walk around a little bit last nite and then sit up for the ride home from Vanderbilt to his house @ 20 mins. drive today.
