eyes get blurry when on the computer

It's an age problem. The older we get, the more difficult it is to correctly focus.
I wear trifocals, but for the computer , I switch to a pair of drugstore glasses with the focal length that matches my eye distance from the screen. Now I don't have to hold my head in a particular angle to see OK.

Both.

Move the screen away from you, and blow up the font or whatnot, if you can't read it anymore.

Wear a blue-light blocking pair of glasses, even if "just a set of readers". They assist with the short focal distance, and with harmful light.

Get an eye exam, and see where you stand, then take corrective action.

It's actually NOT just age-related.

The human eye is not best-suited to long term focus at the short distances of many modern workplaces.

ANY age person, if focusing on a screen at 1m or less all day, should be wearing something in the +0.5 to +0.75 diopter range, to assist their eye musculature.

I have that problem looking through a rifle scope for more than 15 or 20 seconds, particularly on the higher magnifications. I have to look away, and then get back on the scope. It seems to be worse on big objective lens scopes. I think it's eye fatige

Eye strain.. If you don’t wear glasses may be time to get checked. Obviously less time on the screen will help as well as moving screen to a better distance or angle which becomes really important if your using multiple screens at once. Shift you focus often. I’ve seen some use a small desk fan to help keep air circulating also as long as your not in a dusty environment.

As you age, even the settings on a scope you have used for a long time may need to have the rear (ocular) diopter adjusted for aging eyesight. I have noticed this on some older rifles I have not shot for quite a while. One required parallax and diopter adjustment; sure aided in accuracy.

Get up and walk around inside the house (or even better take a trip outside around the house).
Your legs and eyes will thank you.

what makes your eyes get blurry when using the computer for a while ? Is it an eye problem or a computer screen problem ?
Could be both. A high quality screen with a really high refresh rate will cause less eye fatigue.

Also eye strain and just getting older can cause blurriness.

my screen is 37 inches from my eyes, does that tell me what readers I need /

I had a pair of bi-focals made for just the computer. They were pricey! But they work. Upper for screen and lower for the keyboard.

the screen has nothing to do with FPS frames per second, your video card does, my guess is he's on a 15 year old Fred flintstone computer, got to get glasses and a more modern rig.

stop that! go to an eye doctor and have them make you a pair for the computer and chances are you'll get another set with bifocals, TAKE CARE OF YOUR EYES PEOPLE!

I use readers exclusively for computer/close work. All readers are not created equal. Many cause distortion and eyestrain. Spend a few dollars more for a pair that doesn't contribute to the problem. I learned my lesson buying them by the six pack. They're cheap for a reason.

Good day,

For readers at a bench, I use readers with glass lenses. Easy to clean, really tough to scratch and heavy enough I know when I put them in my shirt pocket. Cost more, but worth it. Plastic cheapos for my pocket do the job when I'm out of the house. Trash them when scratched or dirty, don't care if I lose them.

HTH,
DocBII

I used to use the cheapo readers as well, but when I got my latest pair of glasses I had them make me a real pair of computer glasses based on my distance to the screen, and what a difference!

Do you take Gabapentin? Gabapentin causes fuzzy vision and all kinds of other problems, I had to quit taking it due to the side effects.
