Site Needs .243/.243AI Loads & Comments

Yesterday I was in a few stores that keep reloading supplies. I was not looking for anything particular. I came across a box of Sierra 100 gr spitzer. My hunting load for my .243 uses 100 gr interlock. When I was home I was looking at load data and various information about the Sierra 100 and ran across that the bullet required a 1 in 8 twist. My barrel is 1 in 10. Anyone had success with these in 1 in 10? I'd rather not waste the components in testing if its a slim chance of stabilizing. Thank for any experience with these.
Todd

I'm at 1242 ft. The 100gr. fb will stabilize in a 12 twist, but a 95 gr BT will not. A 10 twist "should" work.

Bumped the powder on up a tad with the 243AI with 115 gr. DTACs and got even better numbers from the chrono with this load. Planning to get a couple of 5-shot groups loaded to make sure it duplicates real soon.

115 GR. TUBB DTAC N/R TBN C 2.181 O M 2.814 COL. T/L B S .521 B C .620
POWDER VV-N165 48.4 GR. PRIMER CCI BR-2 .269 BU. LND .271
SEATED @ 2.171 O M 2.804 COL .010 OTL E C V2 T/S -40-
.120 3-SHOT GP. 62 DEG. 34 % REL/HUM 04/07/24 3135 FPS 4 S D 9 E S

After looking at all the parameters of the load above and the lower 47.2 gr. load I have decided to move back to it. Speed is at 3092 FPS with 47.2 gr. and chrono numbers (E S & S D) are not that much different. Groups are basically the same for 5-shots. Plan to shoot this load on Wed. @ 700 yds. to see how it works in hotter temps.

Did get a chance to try this load again at 700 yds. last Wed. and realized it is in fact as good if not some better than the hotter load at 48.4 gr. of VV-N165. No sense in running the load over a grain hotter as close as the elevation is showing with the ballistics calculator and on the target.

I'm seeing quite a few mfg make 243 brass. Which would you choose for 243 ackley. I am going to run this one up there on pressure and back down a touch.

I probably don't shoot my 243AI as much as others, but I've had it for almost three years and am still working on my first 100 pcs of Lapua brass. And of course, I've never trimmed a single piece!

The only reason I have seen for trimming 243AI brass would be to even it up as some advocate accuracy is affected by un-even trim length. And it only requires removing just a few thousandths.

Haven't had this rifle long but its a gem. I've done very little load work up but it seems to shoot everything around a 1/2" or less. The Sierra 85gr SP Varminter seems to be its early favorite with 46.3gr of H4831sc, a Fed 210M and Winchester brass. This rifle has a very short throat as my OAL is around 2.610" and I'm kissing the rifling. I had a Rem 700 VLS in 6 Rem years ago that I really enjoyed but wow this XTR has been easy. Can't wait for warmer weather and time to work with it some more.

243Win
70gr Sierra Blinking and 41.3gr of Varget
Have shot up too 42gr down to 40.7gr of Varget but my Winchester bull barrel with 1-12 twist liked 41.3gr. Watch if going to 42gr as my gun started showing pressure at 42gr. But the best was .3 to .6" groups regularly. Have fun!
