What's the fastest powder considered for 30br?

Stick with the proven powders forget that other crap. H4198, N130, LT30. I tried W680 one time. Velocity was extremely high and every time I pulled the case out of the chamber the primer would fall out, not good. I've tried just about every powder you could think of in a 30BR. H4198 is defiantly the single best powder for a 30BR bar none.

I've found the bolt handle to be a great source of load data. ;) -Al
Thanks for your reply to my first question. What I don't understand is can this compensate for the loose nut behind the trigger. Can the difference even be quantified? It's like guys using tweezers picking out grains of powder when weighing loads. Hell, the scale is only accurate +/- .1 grain.

Bob in WI laid it out succinctly (post #23 above): "For my Remington competition 30BR as well as my non-comp Remington 30BR, the ejector mark has been my first area to indicate pressure. If brass is flowing here things are getting warm."
Wildcatting, or, in the case of a 30BR, "Domesticatting", dictates an eye on the caution signs. ;) RG

P.S. there is all sorts of DATA for the 7.62x39 (look up the Accurate/Hodgdon DATA) - start there and [cautiously] work up.

LT-30 and H4198 have about the same case fill. and I get a little more fps with LT30. There has been some 1 pounders of H4198 out at Cabelas last I heard. It was spotty on the usual website but dried up quick.
Hope more to come in the near future.
