Thinking of getting a kauger action left handed for a pistol build. Anyone done one of have input? Thinking of using a atom xlr chassis. Kauger gives option of recessed bolt nose or a semi cone, is one better than the other? Want to do it in 7br.

If you're right handed, the left bolt is the way to go. I have a few XPs and I really don't like the right bolt. Shifting grip to cycle the bolt is a pain.
I have the 7 BR in an XP and it's a really good cartridge for a pistol.

As just mentioned, keep us posted. I'm getting ready to build my 3rd specialty pistol and have been looking at the left bolt Kauger as well.

This LINK shows a Kauger action being used for a .22 creedmoor. He uses a right hand action since he's left handed. You might contact Ernie he's the guru on specialty pistols.

You can send your defective pistols to me.

I ordered a right bolt Model 7 repeater action to build an XP-100 clone for IHMSA Pistol Silhouette. It will be chambered in 6X45. Took about 6 months. The fluting on the bolt looks nice.

It makes me concentrate more on those first shot kills better.

If you're left handed, the XP 100 action is the BOMB!! Single shot, no worries about feeding. Right hand works the bolt.

I went a different direction. Savage Model 12 lefty repeater action. Single shot sled so no mag feeding issues. Mounted in a right hand thumbhole stock, Free left hand does ammo and bolt work. OAL of 26" so it's still a rifle according to ATF. I shoot it right handed.
XP 100 mounted in a lefty thumbhole stock. Usually off a rest so no problems sighting in. Right bolt so your free right hand feeds ammo and works the bolt.

Well I bought an action yesterday... I got a left bolt/port atlas tactical. 308 bf. Now I'm looking for a chassis. I'm leaning towards xlr atom. I've also looked at the pork sword, and the mdt ess chassis base. Any other options i havent found? Then to pick the cartridge. I have 2 bartlein blanks. A #3 and a medium palma both 7.5 twist 6mm. I'm wanting to do 6 br or maybe 22 creedmoor. Also think or 6mm remington ai as I have the reamer, dies and brass already. I wanted to do 7br but don't wanna buy more dies and components.

When I finish up with my 20 Practical 110 PCS, I going to turn my attention to redoing my 20 VT to a 6 BR. Already have brass, dies and bolt. I have a 6 BR rifle that is really nice.

I haven't done anything with 20 caliber. How you like it? Hunt or paper punch?
