Suppressor Back Pressure

I’ve never had an issue with back pressure and think it’s overblown. Sure, if you have an over gassed gun, any suppressor will add a little extra back pressure, but folks act like they’re drowning in gas and debris. I’ve got a standard Dead Air Sandman K along with Form 1’s that all use standard baffles and have never had an issue
This is highly subjective and also dependent on how you shoot. The sandman K is probably the lowest back pressure traditional baffle stack cans on the market- it's basically tied with the flow through designs for back pressure so it's no wonder you don't report issues.

Blowback may not matter with your gear, tolerance, and shooting style, but others don't agree at all and have very real issues with focusing on shooting because they're getting gassed in the face. It can be very hard to keep your eyes open. This is mainly an issue with 223 bore cans (like an old school yhm turbo), short barrels, and run n gun style shooting.

Rapid fire exposes more gas issues- the can fills with gas for a shot or two. Once it's full the overflow comes back at you. Ample video evidence. Just because you haven't had issues doesn't mean it's not real. And again a sandman k has almost zero back pressure (it's a 35 bore with just a couple baffles) so zero issues are expected, though I can't speak to your form 1s.

Yeah, this whole thread is based on subjective opinion, I mean, that's kind of the point.

As I noted, I am familiar with multiple suppressors that are standard baffle stack design, as well as longer Sandmans and other non-flow through suppressors, and never had problems or felt like I was getting gassed out. As I also discussed none of my AR's or gas guns are incredibly over-gassed either, they have appropriate gas systems or adjustable gas systems, so that probably makes a difference too.

So yes, I can completely see where this is subjective, for sure, that's why people start threads like this to ask for opinions.

Something else to consider when talking about gas and carbon or unburned powder is. Factory ammo vs handloads. Off the shelf ammo puts reliability ahead of all other qualities. So it often ends up being louder and messier than a decent handload. It’s down on complaints of “it just doesn’t work”

"Subjective" was my diplomatic way of saying I disagree about the blowback thing being "overblown".

If it was overblow why does your rifle have an adjustable gas block? It's impossible to pick a correct port sized for a high back pressure suppressed and unsuppressed rifles.

OP is wise to think this through.

I have too many tax stamps to count on my fingers but if I was starting over, I'd buy tbac for bolt guns and hux for gas guns.

Rifles benefit from adjustable gas blocks whether you use a suppressor or not. I’m saying that blowback is less of an issue with a gun that isn’t over gassed.

Yeah, if you’re running a Daniel Defense that is already way over gassed and throw a standard baffle stack can on there, sure, you’re going to get some blowback.

For most scenarios other than that, I have found a well tuned (or tunable) gas gun does fine with most suppressors without excessive gas. All I’m saying.
