Scope for a rimfire

I'm looking for a versatile scope for my anschutz 1712.

The rifle is currently used for both hunting and also casual target shooting out to 200 and occasionally 300yds. I'm managing this by having a 20moa rail and switching between a weaver 4-16 and a NF Comp 15-55 and switching between CCI mini mags and eley tenex. It's a pain and I'm over switching scopes.

I need a scope that goes down to at least 6x on the bottom end for hunting and ideally 16x or more on the top end.

Needs to have:

Target turrets that are repeatable to switch between ammo and different ranges.

Not too bulky

Relatively fine reticle with some hold off points would be nice. Something similar to a NF NPR2 or FCR1 that aren't too cluttered.

Couple of scopes that I've considered are Leupold 6.5-20 efr but is pretty tight on elevation, and sightron s-tac 4-20. Does anyone have a recommendations along these lines?

I like meopta but their newer stuff has become overy bulky and tacticooooool for no real reason.

I've got a Vortex Venom 5-25x on my competition CZ457. I have zero complaints with it and it gets me out to 500 yards using the reticle and dialing.

I don’t know what your budget is but the Leupold Mark5s are a good option. I like the weight, the footprint (light and shorter than most), they offer it in a few power ranges. 3-18x is great but if you like more there is 5-25x, 7-35x. They offer a lot of reticles, right now Europtic is paying the taxes and some of them. You can check out the reticles on Leupold.com

I have few scopes with dial turrets, including MeOpta, NF, Valdada, S&B and a few more and I think those Mark5s are a good choice if your worried about weight, length and dependability. I’ve had good luck with them.

I’ve been doing egg shoots with my nieces and nephews, 22s, from 100-250. We’ve been using a Mark5 on a CZ MTR. That seems to be the fav amongst that crew. We are also using a couple Arkens 5-25x for that, they do a great job but they are bigger and heavier but you could buy 6 of them for the price of a Mark5.

The 4.5 x 14 Burris, E-1 has worked perfectly, on My .22 LR, 10-22 "Ruger Custom" with, Green Mtn Barrel.
Scope enables, good Group's down to, 50 Yd's ( Parallax, 50- 00 ) and has "Hash Mark's" IF, NOT wanting to "Dial" for, Distance. They are, very REASONABLY Priced and ARE,. Bright / Clear !
Got, a Fat old, Sage Rat at, 85 Yards using, the Hash Marks for, reference !
The Rifle was "Rested" , over a Big Rock, to Aid in,.. "Precision" !

How much you want to spend?

Thanks for the replies. Realistically $600 is my budget as I have a few other builds happening at the moment so a mk5 is out. I'm not against waiting until something used comes along but just want to get some other options.

A Leupold 6.5-20-40 EFR would be a nice match for size, weight and "theme" but they only have 45moa elevation. With a 50yd zero it's 44moa to 300 so all the stars would have to align to be able to get a 25yd zero hold with the 20moa rail and enough elevation to make 300 as well.

Arken are massive.

I put a Vortex Viper PST GII 5-25X on my new CZ457MTR this summer. They are currently on sale at Midway at just a bit over your $600 budget if you like the reticle offered. I've been quite satisfied with the glass. I put an Arken EP5 5-25 on a Model 70 this summer also. Paid $470 on the jungle site. Decent glass for the bucks and tracks well.

You are asking a lot. Leupold VX6 3-18x44
NX8 Nightforce, Leica 3-18x44. Weight, optics, size the Leupold VX6 3-18x44 tmoa is a tough scope to beat. Anything else NX8 4-32.
