I am looking for some load data on the 30br with 150 grain bullets--I have a 10 twist barrel and I would like to try 150's
I have --L32--N130--imr 4198--1680--4227--varget--cfe223--cfe blk--N540--TAC--lever evolution--Any help will be appreciated

Don’t have copy on my phone but, Sierra has some older load data that would get you started. Can-can send it later today from my laptop when I get home.

One big problem I am having is putting 29 to 30 grains of powder in the case and being able to add the bullet without damaging the case or the bullet

What's the chamber free bore length? Unless the reamer used was done with the appropriate free bore length for the longer 150's, you're going to run out of room in the neck real quickly. A switch to 4227 might dig you out of this hole.

So far N130 has been working well with 150gr Sierra Prohunters for me and I get 2600fps without undue stress anywhere.

Al Nyhus has been asking about freebore for your intended build. I needed about .06 freebore to keep the base of the 150gr bullet out of the shoulder/neck junction. As I also wanted to try 168gr Sierra HPBTs I went further with freebore..somewhere about ⅛"

Bob In Wi , those 150 Sierra SP's are the shortest base-to-ogive 150's I'm aware of...the ones here run right at .500". Other 150's I have run .575"-.585" base-to-ogive.

For an application like this, your .125" free bore length would be a perfect compromise. :) With that, 'normal' 30BR powders would be excellent.

Hope all is well with you. :) -Al

Good morning Al
All good here thanks. Hope all is well in your world too.:)

I will revisit 150s soon. For now I have been playing with Sierra 125gr Gamechangers. I was at the range yesterday with those and posted in "700 30BR Build". Things went very well despite mother natures gale force winds. :)

You are correct..the .125 freebore is a perfect compromise for the different bullets I have and will be playing with.

Thanks for chiming in.
Bob
