I completely agree, and in fact, many Jews forget about the Holocaust. My father was the only Jew in my immediate family who believed in the 2nd Amendment. My mom, who is gone now, was very anti-gun as are both of my sisters, but one of them foams at the mouth when the G word is mentioned. I can't see how any Jew would accept being disarmed. In fact, this is the very reason 1200 Jews were taken hostage and many more hurt and killed, Israel made a huge mistake by implementing gun control.

Bruen means nothing to people that advocate gun controls. Our constitution means nothing to them. And that goes for most of our rights, most of our rights are under attack, including our free speech. This only proves that the 2nd Amendment is not about religion, it was intended to leave religion out. Maybe that is why it's the 2nd Amendment? Religion is covered in the 1st Amendment...

I am not Jewish. I work for a Jewish owned company. They have family members in Israel that were taken hostage and presumed dead.

We armed in the USA, it may not prevent something similar from happening but at least we have a fighting chance. Practice your religion or not as you see fit; the constitution protects your right to do so as you see fit just as it does to be armed.

I think it is all a part of treating the symptoms and not curing the disease.

We have become a society of compromise, acceptance and entitlement.

You are not entitled to anything! You have to Earn it!

The students aren't passing school, ok, lets lower the standard so they can pass instead of fixing the teaching process (not that I am blaming the teachers).

We hardly ever stop people for traffic violations any more! A stop sign means STOP! A YIELD sign means to slow down and proceed when it is clear. People don't follow the laws and when an accident happens at a stop sign, "oh, that must be a dangerous intersection, we need to put in a traffic light there!" No, there has been a stop sign there for a hundred years. Why is it now a dangerous intersection? No, it's dangerous drivers, and no safety equipment will help with that!

Everyone gets a trophy! So why try harder to do better next time? Why is poor or mediocre good enough now? I am 55 years old and still work every day to improve myself!

That's bad, you get a time out! Time out is fine if there is an actual punishment, not, "sit there for 30 seconds and say you are sorry".

Our society no longer has consequences to their actions.

What my father did to me for punishment as a child would be considered child abuse today, but I have never been arrested or broken a major law. Hell, I have not even been pulled over in almost 30 years and there is NO ONE on this planet that I respected more than dad!

He taught me right from wrong and that when I do right, I prosper. When I do something wrong, there is a consequence to my actions.

With all due respect, our Constitution established a Government that was free from the religious entanglements that plagued Countries throughout history.
The only mention of Religion is in the First Amendment, where the Founding Fathers were pretty explicit in their thinking that the Government had no business establishing laws based on one’s religious beliefs, while also saying that the Government also had no business telling citizens that they could not worship the Almighty of their choice.

As a side note, my wife has a friend who is a devout Hindu. She is 2d generation American whose parents immigrated from India.
Our Government is not going to tell her that she cannot worship Brahma no more than it is going to tell me I cannot pray to my Savior Jesus Christ.

When I was in school, We stood and repeated the PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE followed by The Lords Prayer after the morning bell!!! That was in a public school and that was the American Way then!!! That did not cross the line of separation of Church and State!!! No one sat out the pledge, but one classmate elected to sit out the prayer!!! That was America then, free of big government and very little shootings!!! I could go to the local hardware store and buy 22 ammo or shotgun shell at any age, including under 18!! Teaching of right from wrong has failed this country!!!

The separation of church and state has been crossed for a couple of centuries!! Look at US minted coins and bills!!! Every one as the words, "IN GOD WE TRUST". That was the intent of the founders!!! It does not force any individual into a certain region, but states America freedom was achieved only through the grace of GOD!!!

Sorry to ruffle feathers and fact check the fact checker, but I have coins, liberty dimes, buffalo head nickels, and wheat back pennies that are dated way before 1956 with IN GOD WE TRUST protruding from their faces!! I even have steel, not copper, minted pennies from WW2!!!

Two coincidence here!!! I was born in 1956!!! And, like IKE, I'M A KANSAN!!! Been to his Presidential museum several times in Abilene, Kansas!!! Seen the copy of Congressional bill passing the law with IKE'S signature!!! The minting of coins with that phrase appeared during the civil war, around 75 years after the ratification of Constitution (June 21, 1788)!!!

In your study of civics, how many of the founders were firm and hard core Christians?? Most were Baptist or Lutheran!! That is what I used to back my statements!!! Jefferson by far is the father of the Constitution and the author of the Declaration of Independence!! Without his letter he mailed from France (where he was the US ambassador), there would have been no BILL OF RIGHTS!!! Most of the founders wanted the courts to uphold GOD GIVEN INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS!!!

And, I guarantee that our founders were praising Congress and IKE from up above!!!!

Exactly, the constitution does not reference God at all, the First Amendment includes the Establishment clause which protects religious freedoms regardless of religion. As mentioned the first coins started being minted with references to God during civil war times. Ike was the one that pushed for God to be inserted into the pledge of allegiance 1954 which started a movement in congress to have paper currency modified in 1957. It could be assumed our founding fathers had no intention of this happening or they would have made provisions for exactly that.

It is notable that while God was not referenced in the US Constitution at all, there was a reference to God in the Declaration of Independence. While some or all of our founding fathers clearly were believers and religious, they did not mention God at all in the Constitution and Religion only in the Bill of Rights and then only in the Establishment clause.

Those that love to wave the Constitution as gospel that should be followed closely should realize that recent SCOTUS decisions falling back on the Constitution so tightly could in fact at some point be used to remove references to God altogether and Religion with exception of the intent of the Establishment clause. The point being, we should be careful what we wish for or how hard we rock the boat as we may find the laws of our great nation cut both ways.

I think we have all been fooled. As soon as our Constitution and Bill of Rights was put in place, men started to search for ways to undermine it. I've read several books about the intrigue that goes on in the White House that influences decision - each plotting for a place that allows them to make drastic changes in the direction of policy, laws, and our lives. Many in the white house, senate and house are so old they can't possibly make a sound decision. Many are so corrupt in lifestyle and void of moral decency that all you have to do to direct their vote is threaten to expose them or wave a dollar bill at them. They all spend money like it has no value and without thought.

The same things we see today were going on long ago, but the end goal is the same one the liberal progressives were seeking then. Plus we are always under the attack of a refined propaganda system, even to the point of mind control. And if you think you are getting the truth from fox news rather than cnn, I feel sorry for you. They are just two tools used to keep a nation divided, and divided we fall.

However, there is one fact that is just that. FACT!

There is one Document that is the Supreme Law Of The Land. It is not the Declaration of Independence. It is not The Federalist Papers. It is not any Personal Correspondence between any of our Founding Fathers.

It is The United States Constitution. And while every sentence in this Document is just as important as another, the first Ten Amendments, which are known as our Bill of Rights, are there to specifically tell the Government what it CAN NOT do to the Citizenry.

The Establishment Clause in the First Amendment is written with no ambiguity. The Government has no business telling any Citizen what Deity he or she chooses to worship, or not worship.

I suppose we all assume that when the word God is inserted into any Law, Edict, or Proclamation, it means the God of Abraham. We could all get along better if we simply understood that the word God can be generic. Rather than insisting that it is the God of Abraham in that slogan found on coinage, we recognize that it is what ever Deity the person holding that piece of currency wishes it to be.

2 years before I was born, so didn't know about it while I was young...Yes, when I went to school we recited the Pledge of Allegiance every day. Even to this day I can recite it on will. It is a different world nowadays...we used to play sports, but at least in the school district I live in, all the $$$s go to academics and nothing to Art, Music or Sports. I had to pay extra for my kids to be involved in those activities. My son was even accepted to UCLA into a special Design Media Art program based on his Art Portfolio. Both were a part of the Music program and my wife and me helped the Marching Band (my wife cooked for the kids).

To think were we have come to in this country is horrifying. I'm not sure we can recover.

Isn't this why we put Religion into the 1st Amendment? This country was founded on religious freedom. G*D is G*D, it just means different things to different people. It's not as if G*D belongs to any one religion, even though it seems many of the founding fathers were Christians. The law was written to be agnostic. AFAIK, this country was founded on Agnostic theism, period. OTOH, what do I know?

And let me point something out here. The 10 Commandments are pretty old. Most everyone knows about this. When the settlers came to this country, they violated the 8th Commandment, "You shall not steal". But that didn't stop them from stealing America away from the Native Americans. I'm not a Native American, but theft is theft no matter how you look at it. I always believed in the way George Carlin explained it...we just kept moving the Native Americans around until they had a few small reservations. The Non-Natives took all the good $#!T while they could...they didn't ask the Native Americans, they were too busy painting them as horrible people. We can learn things from history, but we won't...
