Georgia State 600 Yard Freedom Benchrest Championship Larry Rutledge Memorial Double Points Match 5 and 6 Red White and Blue Gun Range

If you let the weekend's weather keep you away you missed a great weekend of southern hospitality and fun on the range. Henry Brewer, Squirrel and John Anderson made the absolute best of everything thrown at them for the entire weekend! I was above my head being able to stay one spot being Henry for the weekend. Congratulations to my friend John Anderson, this year's GA State Champ!
Now, for the real people who should be recognized. Much love and appreciation for the job @David 0306 and @Donna Matthews always do making theses RWB matches run smoothly.
To @Ronnie milford for foregoing shooting to cook some fine Saturday night dinner for us all and for assisting in the scoring shed all weekend. Thank You Ronnie!!
To Mike Brown who drove about 100 miles a day both days to help with target crew duties and do whatever else needed to get done. Thank You!!!
There were many people who worked in through some hurricane rain Saturday to make sure we could do what we did.
Lastly, this match was held in honor of someone everyone who knew him misses. Larry Rutledge was a great supporter of not only long range benchers but Manatee and Red White and Blue clubs. I was fortunate again this year to bring home some awards. Those with his name on them just mean more.

Well Im not sure where to start but I will just dive in and see where it goes. We had been watching the Hurricane forecast all week and knew it was going to be a borderline call so we went with it and that was the right call to make . Saturday started with damp conditions a little fog but no issues as the match went forward we had a Fog delay that the turned into a rain delay but after a couple hours delay we where right back at it again then here comes the wind . Man it was a great match with Henry Brewer dominating Light Gun winning Both Group and Score . Henry was shooting a 6brewer in a Kauger action with a Kreiger Barrel all in a Webb Stock all put together By Henry Himself shooting RH103.
Jerry Stroup was 2nd in Score and Overall he was shooting 6dasher built by Larry Archer with a Bat action Krieger Barrel in a LRB stock with Night Force Scope Shooting 103 Vapor Trails
Best Sigle Target Score went to Jerry Stroup with a 50 2x 1.436
Best Single Target Group was The Squirrel with a 1.238

In Heavy Gun It was Jerry Stroup Henry Brewer and The Squirrel battling it out .
Jerry ended up taking score and Overall Just ahead of Henry,
The Squirrel took Group
In Heavy Gun Jerry was shooting a DJ Jones built 6dasher with a Bat action and Byers Stock with Krieger with a night Force Scope shooting 108BTHP.
John Anderson had the best single target with a 50 1x 1.074

In Tactical it was The Squirrel that took Group and Overall ahead of John Gaul and Bob Rosenstein.
The Squirrel was shooting a Ronnie Milford Built 6br Kauger action with a Bartlein barrel in a Master Piece arms chassis with a Night Force scope shooting KH Precision Bullets .

Lowell Yawn was the Big Winner of the Day by Winning the Drawing we had for a New Benchrest Rifle Donated by DJ . Congratulations Lowell and Thank You DJ for all you help and support of the Red White and Blue .

After the Match on Saturday we had a great meal prepared by Ronnie Milford he did a Great Job feeling in for the Tator's Bar and Grill as they where out of town on a Army Ranger Graduation don't get to see many of them and congratulations to all the Rangers that have trained so hard to protect our country .
The BBQ was great and the New Camp Beans where awesome as well. Got to give a Big Thank You to Jim Kimberley for making the best Pecan Pies in Ga they where a big hit.

We had a lot of people working behind the scenes this weekend and Mike ,Ronnie and Tom Thank You for all your hard work .

Yes ! but let's not forget that John Anderson is the GA State Champion.....congrats John, well deserved !!

The race for 2024 Freedom EOTYH is shaping up nicely, with just a few matches left and handful of points separating the top three shooters it will probably come down to a dogfight at the Nationals in Florida Manatee gun club in October, looking forward to it.
