Benchmark carbon barrel ?

Think i messed up buying this Benchmark carbon fiber barrel. I didn’t specify i wanted the extended shank on the muzzle end to be threaded for suppressor.
The shank extends 2 inches past the full diameter steel shoulder. It measures.640
Is the any reason i cant cut the .640 shank to .600 in length, turn down and thread to
5/8-24 ??

No shit Sherlock, You think they are open this weekend?
I'm hoping someone here has dealt with this so I can work on the barrel this weekend.

Thats what happens when you make a smartass reply. Like I hadn't thought to call Benchmark.
Just opened the barrel this morning, really didn't want to wait till Monday to get an answer.
Apparently, you don't have an answer either so why waste everyone's time

:D Everyone’s so soft and sensitive :D

I don’t have a clue Mike, I’d scope it or use a pin gauge and make certain it’s not flared…if not, I’d try it. Never seen one with that short of a muzzle.

Or you could wait until Monday and call Benchmark, if you haven’t thought about that yet ;)

Someone sent me this. This is how you answer someone’s question
Thank you friend. No maybe other folks will know what Benchmark advises

So the answer is yes you can thread the stub for muzzle devices. Proceeding on with the barrel two days ahead of schedule.
I bought this depth mic from someone on this site. I may be uneducated but my tools
were used by rocket scientist so maybe that’s something.

Mike, you are lucky they left you some stock to get it down to your thread size.

The only problem is making sure you get the ID true where you want it.

Do you know what brand of barre blanks they use.?

I would imagine it is made by Benchmark. I've used some on hunting rifles and have one on a silhouette rifle. Good barrels. Never tried a wrapped barrel from them (or anyone else). WH
