The Creedmoor legend grows!

I can not even watch most movies or TV shows that show case miltary, special forces, LEO, long range shooting, etc..... My wife loves that stuff and I laugh so hard she kicks me out of the room!

As for reading fictional books my stance is that it should be so far into either fantasy or scifi that all suspension of belief is easy to attain so that you can let go of things like science, facts, known skill sets etc....For instance JRR Tolkien's works are immersive and very well removed from reality.

Maybe try finding biographical or fact based adventure historical works.

Stay away from modern stuff and try Louis L'Amour.

Okay now you’re going to have to explain that one. ;)
When a good friend passed a couple of years ago, I purchased all of his rifles, as he had some lovely early BSA's in good condition and I was born in the Birmingham area...no, not one Creedmoor, but hang on...I sold off a couple, including a Schultz and Larsen Legacy, that were of no interest and also planned to sell off an RPR in the dreaded 6.5. There were some ammo and cases with it, and I was weak,,, ,I admit to succumbing to the temptation, and took it to the range. At night, you understand - I didn't want anyone seeing me, I was so embarrassed - a man of my age with an RPR AND in 6.5 (sorry, I just can't say the name again) The addiction took hold, and I would take it out in public, sneaking off a few shots at the club after the matches had finished. The obsession became extreme, purchasing Redding S dies, a Wilson seater, pound after pound of H4350, 6.5 Staball, Reloader 17., pound after pound of H2213SC to find the secret load...all to no avail....I just couldn't clean the 1000 yd target. There were bullets, thousands of bullets. Lapua's share price went up 5 points.

It came to me in a dream..."Build an F-class open gun." Build an F-class open gun" The voice went round and round. n a moment of clarity. I decided to build a 6.5x47, but the voices continued...Creedmoor,,, Creedmoor. - You have the dies! I capitulated, no longer able to quiet the thoughts....My gunsmith just could not control his laughter, but eventually agreed to the build. I believe that he took precautions, wearing several pairs of gloves, a face mask and respirator and had a Rabbi sitting in his office, as a last resort. I called him up "Can you make it a 6.5 Lapua?" It was too late - the chamber had been cut and the Rabbi had been committed to an asylum, and could not return, fearing for his sanity. The smith now refuses to do anything to a rifle under 7mm and is working on a project to convert Anschutz rimfire match rifles to Sherman Short.

oh, the third one - it's Tikka UPR and I got it cheap. Nice stock. I will probably re-.barrel it

i still have the RPR. It refuses to be sold and has threatened my family. It insists that it is still under warranty and screams "loser "when I take a 308 to the range.

A RARE Bunch, of, guys, in these, crazy / uncertain, Times for, SURE !
Well said Sir.

I just use one of those Christmas or Birthday present bows with the sticky base for my man bun. Allows me to change it out to suit my mood and match my nipple rings. Not to mention color coordinate my shorty tee. Sticks really well since I have no hair up there. Sometimes I prance for hours out in the shop selecting my outfit. :)
LMFAO!!!!

Joy to the World!--I believe I have been saved!! Loooking around the shop I have found the Sacred Talisman of the ManBun, Bestowed upon me by Capt Dan those years ago, just hanging there on a pego_O
And no wonder all those Flyers have plagued me all these years-- How could I have been such a Dumbass to just let such a thing there on the peg. I have made a permanent place now in my range box for the Sacred Talisman and I now know there will be No more flyers and all shots will fly True to the Center!!:D Let the Good Times Roll!! Just think wat could be if I actually Obtained a ManBun Rifle. There truly would be no Limits especially if i also got some of the ammo with the Red letters on the box!! And a Magnum ManBun_ would be a Truly out of this world experience. I am now rejoicing in the renewed Hope for Me!!
Thanks for the Reminder MR JoshB and Thanks again to the Pirate--Capt Dan- for bestowing this honor on me!!! View attachment 1587840
Embrace the power my Brother!

oh, the third one - it's Tikka UPR and I got it cheap. Nice stock. I will probably re-.barrel it

Wow "Get down with the sickness". LOL

I own a rifle in 6.5CM. When I got my Savage 12FV's they only had them in 308Win, 6.5CM, and 223Rem so I got one in 308 and one in 6.5CM.

I have nothing against the cartridge itself it is and was the endless hype train of gun writers and internet moderators/sponsor/experts/marketers that made it out to be far more than it is that twisted my tighty whities into a bunch! Then you had the outright attempts to descive the simple minded that can not do basic math or understand ballistics where they made it seem like the 6.5CM grossly equaled or outperformed the 300 Win Mag by making absolutely stupid comparisons like a 150gr. soft point flat base spitzer in the 300WM and the 143gr. ELD-X in the 6.5CM or some other similar nonsense! They are actualy taking advantage of those unable or unwilling to think for themselves and that is common but not a virtue and not a sign of integrity!

The 6.5CM is a good cartridge but it is not a great cartridge or anything praise worthy unless it fiting into a short action with ELD/VLD non-hunting bullets is the most important thing in the world to you! Outside of that fact though it is not any better than 6.5x55 Swede, 6.5x57 Mauser, 260 Rem and many other's.

Horandy has proven time and time again that they will lie and misrepresent facts to favor what ever cartridge they have designed and are pushing. It would be fine if it was some huge corperate beast but they always push the small family owned business thing in their marketing and transparency! They have done it with every cartridge they kick out the door lately. You do not expect your best friend, your family member, lover to make a habit of being dishonest with you. It is about trust in a world that is lacking trust!

My latest F build is in 6.5CM so I am not against the cartridge in any way at all I am though going to call BS when I see it. Just because I own a rifle in 6.5CM in no way improves it's performance or makes it better than some cartridge I do not own! LOL It is not a minor god or deity in a bottle!

I do not like liars! If you can not sell your wares with pricing, quality, inovation, precision, customer service and honesty you are my enemy. You do not have to be the best just do not be a liar to make sales!

Anyone that is selling you something should be politely questioned on any claim they make for their product. It does not matter if it is a medical drug, a custom actions, a religious leader, a major manufacture of Jumbo Jet's, your stock broker. If they are making a living by selling you something they should not fear polite questioning and transparency! Expecting some honesty and integrity in an industry should not be asking that much.

The problem is always the hype train and race to profit from propritary designs. Until they improve the cartridge case like Sig's two piece case design almost everything new is just an excuse to sell more junk and increase profit margins. Brass can only hold so much pressure and 99% of action makers do not want to design larger new action designs that would fit a case large enough to make much difference becaue the size, weight, bolt stroke length and barrel life would be horrible.

Slowly very slowly people are waking up to the idea that a flatter faster shooting cartridge is not always worth it now that cheap reliable range finders are a thing. Combine that with better copper solids and a lot of older cartridges are looking really good. Today you can esially chose between a lighter faster lower recoiling solid copper or a heavier more solidly constructed Partition or A-Frame to far greater terminal effect than in decades past because you can reliably dial your yardage. The idea of flat shooting and ELD/VLD bullets that are usually garbage in terms of terminall effect on game compared to copper solids or Partitions and A-Frames! The limitation of cup and core are kind of a thing of the past now!

Testify brother. It's a sickness that is difficult to overcome. Why bother trying I say. :)

I’ll come clean. I bought one. It was a really well priced Tikka CTR. I bought a nut barrel in 6.5x55. When I have time, I’m going to switch out the barrel. I don’t bring it out in Texas. I still getting to know people.
I studied my reloading book and the Creedmoor had similar ballistics to my favorite round, the 6.5x55. I finally realized the load info for the 55 was downloaded for the old Mausers. I have since worked up loads for my custom gun a little hotter than the books.

I apologize for posting the elephant photo, I should know better. Jim
No worries Bro. We have all been deleted once ....well maybe more. Entire Threads have been locked out because we as a group get carried away with our opinion and Boss just brings the group "Form" back to the public stage. Look into some of the "Old days Threads" we did get carried away. So Boss just hit the reset button I am ok with how he regulates the Form it needs boundaries. But still we have strong opinions and tiptoe on the limits...LOL

I was going to get a CM when they were first introduced, until I learned you had to have a 40HR training course before you joined the club. Then you had the secret code word of the day and the secret handshake, and you had to attend a one a month meeting. Just to much for me. :D:D:D LDS
