Yes!
You know I have some where between 20 rifle barrels. Maybe 4 are miltary surplus NOS barells all of the others are from companies like Brux, L&W, Preffered, X-Caliper, Bergara, Douglas, Shilen, HART, etc.....Most are SS but a few are 4150. None of them are what I wanted but all of them where $49 to $179 half had shipping included or where purchased at meets the other half where $15-$20 shipping. Every one of them is heavier or thinner profile than I would want or faster or slower twist than I wanted. Every one of them was in a caliper I was not wanting at the time.
That is how you turn lemons into lemonaid! It is like purchasing motor oil on sale that you normaly use in advance of needing it. Yesterday I purchased M1 0W40 5 quart Jugs with free shipping for $5 less per 5 quart jug than I normaly pay and M1 Oil Filter for 1/2 the price I would normaly pay. I have enough oil on hand to do 1 oil change on the 5 vechiles I maintain. I would like to have more on hand but that is not practical.
Most people do not wait until they have not eaten for a day or two before they purchase more food or prepare a meal. Since just a year or two pre Covid-19 until now I have not purchased a single rifle or shotgun I actual wanted. I have purchased 5 or 6 rifles, 3-4 uppers, two lowers, 2 pistols and a shotgun at stupid low prices. 1/3 current prices new from stores or direct from manufacture online. I now have quite the ecclectic collection of name brand but not premium models.
So if you are intersted in this rifle I think you should get it. If you can swing something more behind it like Howa, Winchester, Savage, Ruger I would go that route since you are more likely to get follow up support, warranty, parts replacement in the future but at the price point we are talking about given reasonable use I doubt you have too much risk involved. When you take a risk there is always a chance you will not like the outcome. Often the greater the risk the greater the reward. When Bitcoin first came out I could have purchased for $50 I think it was. I did not understand block chain crypto currency and thought it was scam boy did I miss out on an oppertunity! Being the early bird is always a risk but that is where a lot of the deals are!
God Luck! Interesting little rifle! Could be a fun plinker or a great little bug out rifle. It would work great for dogs, cats, racoons, and rabits, etc...
