I have yet to see a post that says a chassis won't shoot. Handle a few, pick what feels right. I have an MDT with plastic side panels for cold weather. Benchmark barrel on a trued 700.
I put an $1100 dark, blurry 4.5-30 Bushnell on it. Then I tried the $600 older, clearer, brighter 8-32 Bushnell. No change in accuracy, lots of 10 shot groups at 1000 under 7 inches vertical. Never less than 6. I'm pretty sure a scope costing thousands more wouldn't be any better without improving my shooting and reloading..
Old thread I know but what discipline of shooting would a flat bottom better for, vs a tapered like on many hunting rifles ? I recently made the switch to a flat and am having a hard time getting used to it. ThanksAfter owning several different types I settled on the krg bravo as well because it is a hybrid cross of a chassis and conventional design. It has a removable attachment for the bottom of the butt to provide either a flat or tapered surface, depending on how you are shooting.im finally satisfied.

While I think you may be correct on this for PRS, my experience with my XLR Evolution and its folding stock on my 308 FTR rifle has not had any issues in over 6 years is that is is as solid today as it was new. It also has and adjustment that should it loosen, I can adjust to remove it. Only did this once in this time frame. Different venues have different needs.I would say that if you're going to build a PRS specific gun and want the up most performance I would stray away from folders. Over time I don't care what brand it is but it will develop some kind of play. I would say spend the money and go with either one of the MPA Matrix lines or the MDT Elite. Both of the chassis and companies are on the for front of the competition in the chassis scene. If you get a Chassis I would highly recommend getting it bedded by a reputable gunsmith.
Ive found that if it can come loose it will. I try to eliminate all these possibilities. Personally i dont run a chassis but have serval friends that that do. My one piece of advise is become very friendly with red loc titeWhile I think you may be correct on this for PRS, my experience with my XLR Evolution and its folding stock on my 308 FTR rifle has not had any issues in over 6 years is that is is as solid today as it was new. Maybe the riggers of the PRS game with the shooter having to move to different firing position could also add a great deal of stress on the folding system.
