22 ppc build

Want to put a 22 ppc barrel on my savage for 100 yd ubr. Im going to do 13.5 twist but should i go 3 or 6 groove? Profile? 0 freebore?
Can we assume that you are running a single shot? I have had the best accuracy personally from a good quality 4 groove. Shoot straight bud.

Number of grooves is less important than TYPE of lands. Polygon or "Ratchet" style will give you a better gas seal and less friction, both of which add up to higher velocity. Also, the smoother land edges cause less bullet deformation.
For the same reasons, fewer grooves are better. I'm currently shooting a Pac-Nor 4 groove polygon, only because they didn't offer a 3 groove in my caliber/twist. 90% of Pac-Nor sales are polygon. That should tell you something.
My barrel shoots better than I can (.2oa or better consistently).

I've had really good bbls in 3,4,5 and 6 groove configurations. There are things that matter regarding land to groove ratios etc but I've not found this to be one. I honestly think a good bbl is a good bbl, cut vs buttoned as well.

Thanks @boltfluter I'll move that direction. I had decided on Kreiger. This old action has bested much better actions since the early 80's so I know its up to it. It is currently a 22XC. Picked up a nice Randolph front rest in Asheboro, NC today and the scope saturday at the next shoot. Manson has designed me a reamer with zero free bore.
