Anyone shooting 22ARC in an AR with a 16” barrel?

I’m thinking about putting one together and just curious if it works good and if there’s any quirks to it. I’m going to use the 62ELD-VT and maybe the 75ELD and some 77 grain Sierra Match King. Looking for the higher velocity and range potential.

I've only used the 18" barrel currently as my shortest configuration. I think you'll lose somewhere between 30-45fps for the 16" over the 18". Don't quote me on that, because I cannot even remember where my velocity was on the 75gr Factory out of my 18".

If I were to have the choice, I'd go again to the 18" barrel I have now.

I’m running a suppressor and really don’t want the additional lever/weight. The rifle also has a Pulsar thermal optic and I’m okay with the 50 fps drop in velocity. I think I can get 2950fps with 62 eld according to Gordon Reloading Tools. I’m just wondering if the buffer or anything is touchy. I have a H2 to slow the BCG. I’m loading my cartridges.

I understand the balance concern. My 18" is using a PRS lite so it balances quite well with the can and optic.

I am running an adjustable gas block on a midlength with about 0.093" gas port hole, rifle length I'm not. Using an H2 will certainly work with the increased back pressure of your can. If you buy a barrel with a rifle gas length port location, you "should" be okay without modifying anything and it should run efficiently with just the standard block and buffer.
