Hi guys I’m getting one of these in and would like to throw my 1-4 service rifle optic on it for the falls deer hunt in NY state. Anyone have experience with any good mounting options ?
Thanks for the tip!If it has top ejection, a side mount is what I would recommend zeroed @ 100 yards. This allowed me to quickly acquire and take deer out to 150 yards with my old .30-30.
Used to be a good one made by IronSighter that allowed use of irons if desired. It mounts to the side or the rifle and slightly offsets the scope from the barrel.
I have only fired at two running bucks in all the years that I hunted, and both were taken with the first shot because the irons were unobstructed by the scope mount.
Whichever mount you need for the rifle, try to keep your irons usable to maximize the chances of a successful hunt.
