Blank seating Wilson die

I have a 22 Creedmoor reamer and a 7-6.5 PRCW reamer. I ordered a blank Wilson seating die and was going to use my reamers to make a seating die for each of them.

Here’s my problem/question….. I have a floating reamer holder that I use. The bushing I need to use is the size of the seating stem. Well they don’t make that size of bushing.

For example on my 22 Creedmoor I have the bushing set .2178-.2194. Well the seating die stem is .2250 and there’s not a bushing that size to put on the end of my reamer.

What am I missing here?? Tell me I’m doing something wrong here (besides not just buying the seating die already made haha).

Do you have to use a solid/rigid reamer and not a floating one.

Dial in the front of the bore in the die just like you would locating the throat on a barrel. Pre bore it. Taper bore, step bore whatever. Ream it with no pilot. I do just like I do a barrel. Start pushing the reamer with a center. Once it gets going fairly deep I swap over to a simple Tooley/Bryant pusher.

I'll add there's been other posts discussing this so you could do a search and see what all was said in the other thread or threads.

I’ve dialed it in, pre bored it, taper bored it and that’s as far as I got. So I use the reamer with no pilot. Ok, I wouldn’t have thought of that. I’m not sure what a Toolsy/Bryant pusher is. Thanks for this info! I’ll see if I can find other threads on this like you said. Thanks again!!
