JD this raises a couple very important questions....
If the snake had nailed you in the butt, would your buddy suck the poison out?
Same question only in reverse.
What if your buddy got nailed in the butt?
I know you've had to ask yourself these very questions, cuz a fella has to have a plan and be prepared for unforseen circumstances.

Believe me, we were pretty experienced in back woods surgery techniques. Here's the same buddy who is better than a brother, removing a pencil sized juniper stick which was imbedded an inch into my arm and broken below the surface. Tools used -- vice grips and a fish hook -- cheap wine anesthetic, and cheap rum antiseptic. Guy that took the pic is my other brother from another mother.

We were about 21 years old here, and I'm frankly amazed that we've all lived into our sixties. And no, cell phones weren't a thing back then. jd

I’m glad she saw it!

We had one on our front porch coiled in a corner by a bucket we keep the hose in, my wife saw it. The grand baby’s were visiting and play out there all the time. He got the death penalty and my wife puts out snake repellent three times a summer now. Small pellets that smell like moth balls. They are rare around here in the first place but they certainly aren’t welcome around the house.

Most of us have things we fear one way or another, Snakes of any kind is one of mine. I fear what I might not see more than what I do. About 3 times a year, I put out snake repellant too, and yes it does smell. I don't know if it works or not, but I hope it does. It's seldom I see anything.

We haven’t had a snake back around the house since she started putting it out, not sure it’s the repellent but as long as she feels like it is it’s all good…..
