6 BR lapua brass

is this brass ever going to be more available again ?
I was fortunate in that when Dan Dowling built my first 6mmbr he suggested Lapua brass . So (dummy?) me bought 5 boxes of brown box brass. I proceeded to weigh each case and separate them in lots by weight. Little did I know that the brass would last 20+ firings and still be good. After shooting many years later I still have over 400 of the new cases.

  1. Lapua and Vihtavuori are both part of the Nammo Group, so probably a good bet they are using VV powder.
  2. If you check the VV site's reloading data page for 6BR you'll find the 105 Scenar listed with both N140 and N150 powders.
  3. The listed speed of the loaded ammo (2674fps) is near the middle of the loads they list for N150 (2628) and almost the maximum they list for N140 (2694). My guess would be N150.
This is all just conjecture based on connecting bits of information.

I load with both N140 and N150 so I've seen plenty of kernels of both of these powders. The average N140 kernel length is about 1X the kernel diameter. N150 is a little longer, about 1.5X the diameter.

If you get some of this ammo and open it up then you'll be able to weigh a charge and then you'll know!

I feel like something is going on. It usually appeared every three months, and I haven't seen it in over 4 now. I sent an email to a Lapua from their website and got this response.

Also no offense, but a best seller doesn't mean anything. They stopped production of many great selling cartridges.View attachment 1566156
Got the exact same message from them

I've got 1800 pieces of brand new Lapua 6 BR brass in matching lot number MTM plastic boxes. Problem is it has all be neck turned to .012 on a lathe by Speedy Gonzales, so apparently no one wants it at any price. I have had it listed on here and Sniper's Hide and 2 other places, not one bit of interest. So apparently 6 BR brass isn't THAT difficult to find?

No offense but it might be the $275.00 price tag keeping it cost prohibitive to a good number of people.

it's already turned to 0.012", so if you don't want to do it yourself you need to consider that in the price....would you pay somebody a 1$ a piece to turn your brass ?
