Lapua wsm is real

I am sure they had started to make the dies and do the prep work before the military request started to overwhelm them and it was a project that once started yielded no income till finished. It may be something that uses machines that are not appropriate for what every military products they are making. They make products that are lovingly built to standards that we demand, not shot once and lost for life. They have to be just as disappointed in the loss of our business as we are. It would bother me to no end, to go from making the finest shooting sports products that put a smile on our faces to making something to kill somebody.

The boxes suck though you have to say

Indeed they do! I already miss the neat little blue plastic boxes Lapua used for many years. When empty, they're useful for all kinds of other reloading room tidbits. A cardboard box is pretty much useless when the product is removed, goes right into the circular file or recycle bin.

A premium product requires a suitable container, at least in my way of thinking. But I'd settle for a plain-jane cardboard box if the label read "221 Fireball".

They changed it as the necks were getting dinged when the dealers were posting boxes out. I expected them just to put some foam in the blue boxes. That said the cases arrive in pristine condition now.

The BLUE PLASTIC boxes when they first came out HAD a foam pad to help with preventing damage to the brass. Unfortunately the foam reacted with the sea air and left a blue stain on the cartridge cases where it touched them. This could be polished off the brass in a tumbler. BUT many customers said the brass the " over annealed" and demanded an exchange. So, we went to the segmented cardboard brass to help mitigate brass damage. Thats the story.
In regard to brass availability . LAPUA HAS 16 cartridge cases on its " postponed production list" due to its having to concentrate on MILITARY BRASS to refill depleted ammunition stores in Europe due to the war in the Ukraine. Now 6BR is not on this list. However much of the manufacturing capacity has been turned over to military brass a explained above and this reduced the number of cartridge case machines. WHICH LAPUA IS WORKING ON HAVE NEW MACHINES ADDED TO HELP RPRODUCTION. Along with building a new manufacturing facility to produce more VV POWDER and 155mm artillery shells.
So we are not standing still. Neither is BERGER BULLETS or our RIMFIRE ( LAPUA and SK). We brought out the 300 WSM with the 6GT cases later this year because of customer requests that we do not ignore. BUT you can only do so much. And we are doing our best during these trying times to service both our military and civilian customers.
Thank you for your understanding, patience and loyalty.

Well said.
Some just don't understand.

Yes I had an email conversation on the subject with Erkki Seikkula the Sales & Marketing manager at Nammo. He was very helpful and even sent me some replacement brass for the damaged ones, above and beyond what I expected. Hence I'm using Lapua brass exclusively with great results and awaiting some 6GT later in the year.

We've seen a restock of brass and SK ammunition in the UK, VV powder is still thin on the ground though. The Ukraine war/restocking is well known here in shooting circles, the shortages are very noticeable ;) I'm hoping it all gets resolved before too long.
