action screw torque

does anyone have a savage model 12 with an HS precision stock and know what the action screw torque should be ?

40-40-40 for the HS that comes with the aluminum bedding block. Mine shot good with the HS recommended torque. There is a different procedure for the Savage wood stock. I shoot both of my Model 12s with 30-30-10.

Savage F Class (Factory set up) in the original stock. I found as I tuned the three action screws torque I ended up with 35/35/55 in lbs. And my groups started to take a one hole group as I increased the third screw torque. Savage F Team had a bulletin on this very sight. I found that and used his method.

Using the 35 in lbs for both the front screws I added torque in 5 in lbs increments until the desired result was achieved.

Interesting the groups ship changes during this little exercise .
