SOLD Ruger No. 1 6BR Walking Varminter SOLD

Not shooting much anymore I am offering one of my varmint rifles. I am the original owner of this custom Ruger No. 1B. It started life in 1978 as a .243. I took the rifle to Mark Penrod in 2018 to build a walking varmint rifle in 6BR. It has a Krieger barrel, 26 inches long, 1:10 twist, no turn neck, (I use Lapua brass straight out of the box), .630 muzzle and has been fired less than 120 rounds. Very accurate with VV N135 powder and Berger 80 grain varmint bullet. I have not tried anything else. Mark set the trigger at just over 2 pounds at my request. Rifle includes 3 Ruger rings (one being rear extended) but NOT the scope. Leupold 6-18 is available to the rifle buyer at a reasonable cost if desired. Overall condition is excellent with a couple small wood marks. Will not disappoint. Shipping will be in a hard plastic case with cardboard sleeve. Buyer pays ship cost. CONUS only. Contact me if this needs to go from FFL. Please PM me with any questions. I am in NW Ohio and inspection welcome. Cost of the rifle is 1395.00 Thanks for looking.

I have one from that era in 22BR. The wood on the early varmint rifles was outstanding from Ruger! I put a Kepplinger set trigger on it about 15 years ago. That makes a world of difference having a set trigger. No way that will ever leave the family. :)
Cheers

I have 4 Ruger single shots re-barreled by Mark with a 5th on the way. All are extremely accurate. Considering the barrel and installation expense, this rifle is a real bargain!!

Yes, I sold the gun very reasonable. Rob appreciates the rifle for what it is and that matters to me. I have one more Ruger No.1 Penrod built for me, but it will be in my estate. Also, a 6BR but much fancier factory wood, case hardened, Krieger moly barrel blued and Mark's trigger/safety and a few more fancies. It's too nice to carry in the field so that is why I had the second one built. But sadly, it is time to slow down a bit. Thanks to everyone that commented or messaged me. Much appreciated.
