SELLING Timney trigger/Winchester Model 70 NIB/Price reduced

I'm not 100% sure, but a good question. I bought it for one of my Model 70's that has the controlled feed Pre-64 type action, but I never did try to install it. I will get in touch with Timney, see what they say and post it asap. Thanks for the question!

So, I got in touch with Timney, and from what the guy said, it depends, here is my question, I also referenced the 402 model number:

Looks like this is the trigger I have:

I also have attached a picture of the package. Can you tell me if this trigger will work with the Pre-64 controlled feed type action?

Thanks in advance,

Joey

Here is the reply from Timney:

Hi Joey,

Happy to help! Good question.

The 401 model is if your stock trigger is the older stock model that is in pieces where you can visibly see the hammer, sear and trigger shoe.

The 402 MOA version is the trigger you would need if your stock trigger on that WIN70 is already in a housed/contained unit.

Hope this helps!

So I haven't looked at the triggers on my Model 70's and I've never changed one out. So the short answer is that it depends, hope this helps! Joey

Wow! I clicked on the link and it shows how to install it on the 150th Anniversary Model 70. Does not say it will for sure work on the OM models. I have a 300 H&H, if I knew it would fit, I would buy it. I guess I could call...

thanks,

ISS

Just take a look at your present trigger and compare it to the two on the website.

I was looking at a male Lion is a group of five at about 115 yards; getting late in the evening with my OM 300 Magnum. I'd have liked a 2oz to tickle, or be less than a quarter-mile to the truck.

This model Timney replaces only the MOA trigger found on later M70's made by FN, which is enclosed in a housing like the Timney you show. If you have the older trigger configuration that dates back to the 30's, which the parts are not enclosed in a housing (includes both pre and post 64), the MOA type trigger will not work.
