I’m putting a scope on my 22CM that has 100 MOA adjustment will this be enough to get me to a thousand yards I’m not got much reloading data yet but figure will be running around 3400 fps be running the 80.5 Berger bullets.

If you don’t use up more than 70ish minutes zeroing at 100, you’ll be fine.

+1 to what Doug said. Zero at 100 yards and see how much elevation travel you have left. A ballistic calculator will give you a close estimate of how much you need to come up. My guess is it will be in the ballpark of 28ish min

Put it on a 20 moa rail then you have around 75 or so and you will have more than enough and at 1000 you will be relatively centered for best image

I agree that your come up is about 26 or so. My come up on my 22br with 85.5 berger is 26 for 1000

Another question do you guys set your scopes in the middle of the clicks say if scope has a 100 click I would set it at 50 ?

That would be nice, but where the scope is set depends on what's need to zero the rifle.

I don’t. For an elr setup, I’ll have to bottomed out. For most others I like it to be 15-25 moa off the bottom

Kochie. In your first post you say 100 moa in the last you say 100 clicks of travel.

Clicks makes it only 25 moa assuming 1/4 moa clocks. You would want to use the inserts to get 20 moa up so your 1000 yard dope is not maxed out at the end of travel. The workings of a scope are much better in the middle of the range of travel so you will want to be in the 25-75 click range for the distances you will shoot the most.

But, I am almost sure the scope you are talking about is the Sightron SIII long range scope as they have 100 MOA of elevation.

If it is, I have had the Sightron SIII 6-24x50 long range scope on my Savage 12FV rifle in .223. At 500 Meters shooting a 75gr bullet at 3019FPS, I still had 5 full revolutions on the turret at 15 MOA per revolution. on this, it would have enough left to get out to 1000 yards with standard bases.

Just for info, Most scopes have around 40-60 MOA of elevation

So, the proper name is the NF NXS 5.5-22X50. It has 1/4 MOA clicks and 100 MOA elevation adjustment range. This means that at mechanical zero, you have 50 MOA up and 50 down. Mounted and sighted in for 100 yards you should have about 45 or so MOA up, plenty to take you to 1000yards.
