what did you shoot today?

I was not sure where to ask this. Today I got out and shot only powder and ball revolvers (percussion).
The Targets were:

Cardboard animals
Plastic pop bottles (two liters)
Aluminum soft-drink/beer cans (all empty from the recycling bin b.t.w.)
Dixie brand paper plates glued to two by four posts with bullseye rings drawn on with a sharpie

Target distances were 5, 10, 15 yards away so in my estimation safe given the materials
All firearms were reproductions only, no originals

I love black powder percussion revolvers. I own two, a 1851 Colt Navy and a 1860 Colt Army, both Uberti reproductions.
Last trip to the range I shot the 1860 Army at clay birds on the berm at around 120 yards. I didn’t hit one but I scared a couple.

I was the pistol range today, shooting my Model 17 S&W, 22 LR (K22) at 25 yards at an NRA B16 Target. Specifics (): 20 shot average, 86.0. But I cheated, shot two handed however with open sights. Also shot my Model 586 S&W, 357 Magnum, Specifics (): 10 shot average, 88. But cheated again, two handed however with open sights.

Sorry no pictures, hopes that doesn't annoy anyone. Besides, those scores are nothing to brag about but for a 77-year-old with bifocals, it ain't too bad.

Not Today but yesterday I did load development for my 300RUM.
Shooting 215 Hybrid OTM
Using N-570, 4th firing on Rem annealed brass, Fed215M, C.o.a.l. 3.855,
95grs was my max.At 3307fps
Found a good node between 93. to 93.5
Settled on 93.3 At 3220fps..3 sd.
Picture below is 12 shots with the 3 loads.
Now I need to stretch it out to 300 and 500yds.

Was out testing some loads in a savage storm 110 I picked up awhile ago. Windy as all get out but I have a place to go protected by trees to stay out of the wind with those little 32 grain pills. A couple of pigeons decided to land 80 yards away on an old grain bin. Only had a 4 shot group on that charge weight. The 5th met feathers.

No shooting today. Ranges open next weekend - so case prep - cleaning, annealing and some neck turning on some new Lapua Palma brass. Trying out some 185 Juggs loads next week , in the tight neck rifle. Also making some 6mmSLR brass for Saturday's 300 td shoot.

With a shooting bench in front of the window in my shop and looking down a 100 yd. range I'm privileged to shoot as often as I like. I shoot rim fire and center fire 4-5 times a week on average. Both paper and steel.

Same here. It's really nice to have that flexibility to shoot as often as I want with my 100 yard range. Being retired, I shoot an awful lot compared to most. Much cheaper than golf! Down side is living in rural Arkansas, an area with millions of trees and mountains, finding areas to shoot longer than 100 yards is a challenge. Always looking for new shooting training to sharpen my skills using what I have available

Early today it was several different Rugers, single-actions of course. A couple of Colt clones. Only "rifle" I shot was a reproduction of Steve McQueen's "Mare's Leg" from Wanted: Dead or Alive television series. Difficult to aim and I'm not very good with it but boy howdy was it fun.

New PVA barreled Tikka in 22GT. Had loaded up 50 rds of 88gr ELDMs with N555 and got the scope zeroed, and barrel warmed up.

Absolutely, love my 100 yd. hole in the woods aligned with my shooting room window. Makes it really easy to shoot most anytime.

Today was Ruger Monday. Ruger Old Army (20 grains of FFFg). Also Ruger Blackhawk .357 though I almost always shoot .38 special in it. Back to the Ruger single six to finish it off.
Targets were as always: Cardboard, cans, plastic pop bottles, etc.

Today was day three of reloading week. I loaded up a bunch of 115 gr HP 9mm. Yesterday was 38 and 357. I ran a bunch of the 9mm reloads at silhouette targets, using a new Sig P365 Macro. I’d tell you that I don’t much like the trigger, but the darn thing is really accurate. I bought the P365 to be my midsize pistol, between a big Beretta and a itty bitty S&W 380. Excellent choice.

Tomorrow is 223 day.

I fire formed 50 rounds of 17 ackley hornet in my little Cooper rifle.
The fire form load is plenty accurate for Squirrel work.The little 20 grain vmax rocks at about
3800 fps

Got out a pair of Navy Colts. One still in the original cap-n-ball .36 and the other converted to 38RF/38CF. Mainly comparing the two and just having fun. Also shot the Dragoon and Walker. Both fun but heavy which is why I was shooting low I think.

Installed a bit over 500 Primers in casings I'd shot the past couple of weeks, still have a couple hundred left to do. Then loaded a new brew recommended to me for my .223 Savage Precision I bought 2 months ago. Used Varget & SMK 69 grain and this gun really likes this combination. Groups really tightened up. Going to increase grains and try again tomorrow. Anxious to see if there is any improvement.
