73 gr berger bullets

looking for a good starting load in a 223 cal 30" 1/7 twist bolt gun
what load are you guys loading, I have Varget and reloader 15 powder

For my bolt rifle I use 24.6 gr Varget,.. Winchester brass, CCI-450 or Fed.205m primers, 2.330" COAL ( not optimal freebore ). I use this bolt rifle for bullets weighing from 52 gr to 77 gr., hence why the freebore is not optimal.

Great bullets. Since I live in Canaduh they're not as easily available.

Start can be as low as 22.5 and you should hit compression somewhere just under 25.0 where it will be hitting max.

If using Varget doesn’t get you the velocity you’re looking for switch to TAC. I use TAC in 223 and played with Varget but lost my velocity and went back to TAC.

I want to try the 73's because I could not get the 80.5's to shoot
