30 Nosler

I have a Browning X-Bolt Hell's Canyon Max Long Range in 30 Nosler. Twist rate is 1 in 11. From my experience it shoots pretty dang well! I've hit a Steel Ram Target at 600yds with it consistently. Not sure of how tight the group was (the ram is on a public Range and needs a new paint job). I'm about to start reloading for my 30 Nosler! Been contemplating seeing if I can get a bigger box mag made bt Wyatt's installed so I can run higher Ballistic Coefficient on the reloads. And I'm also eventually thinking about running a 1 in 9 twist barrel on it so I have more bullet options to shoot like the Berger 215 Hybrid. Any thoughts? Or just leave it as is and see what I can do?

I wouldnt run the 215 unless you can get to 3.7 or close mag box length.
Personally I prefer a 10 twist with the 210-215

The 210 Berger VLD shoots well in a 1-11" twist as does the 210 BT also.
No problems out to 1000yds., farthest I shot them.

Thanks for the reply! What kind of Powder are you using? I've heard H1000, Vitahvouri N570 and 565 is great as well as Retumbo.

I have a 30/338 Lapua Improved with a Lilja 1-11" 3 groove barrel, Retumbo gave me the tightest groups with H1000 a close second, I haven't tried any other powders.

We have a guy shooting a 30 Nosler with a 1-10" twist in our 1000yd benchrest club, he's shooting the Berger 215 Hybrid with H1000 quite well.

I'm sure VV N570 will give higher velocities at the expense of barrel life.

Couldn't I use a less of a charge with the N570 and that wouldn't shorten barrel life? What reloading manual would you recommend for the 30 Nosler?

That I don't know, from all I've read about N570 it burns hotter than most other powders, if you weren't looking for top velocities I don't think I'd want to use it.

What matters most to me is accuracy.. Not chasing stuff like benchrest guys.. LOL.. But a 2" group at 1,000yds would be nice.. LOL

H1000 is money in the 30Nosler and either with a CC1 250 or Fed 215 primer.
I'm guessing you got a saami chamber should be a node around 3025 FPS with a 210-215 and 26" barrel, proper freebore will get you 3080 maybe 3100 with a fast barrel

Awesome! I have a stock Browning X-Bolt Hell's Canyon Max Long Range.. So hopefully the chamber is up to SAAMI specs.. LOL.. What do you guy's use for a reloading manual for the 30 Nosler?

If you use the search on hear there will be info on it, but be cautious you can't run the same upper end loads with a saami chamber like you can with .200 freebore.
I would start with Noslers reloading manual.

Nosler brass won't run upper end either without taking out the primer pockets, ADG is way better brass

I'll definitely be getting ADG brass.. They do recommend starting out at 10% less on charge due to the difference in their brass compared to Nosler, etc..
