6 BRA & 105 grain bullets

Has anyone tried H-4198 or IMR 4198 w/ 105 grain bullets, have a pound of each

H4895, varget, n140, and n150 are all good powders for that combo

I have H-4895,H-4350,Varget, N-135,down to about 6-7 pounds of H-4895, Saving the 4895 for 1500 of Barts 105's. Trying to figure out what I can use the 4198 for. I load .204 Ruger, .223, & 6 BRA

My .204 load used H4198, if that helps.

I have never had luck with varget out here in the desert in a BRA, but that N135 is what I’d shoot.

What kind of velocity were you getting with it in 204 ?

Lots of people looking for what you have for a much more suitable application. If I were you, I'd trade your h4198 for n135,h4895, Varget, n140, just about anything in that range is better suited in terms of burn rate.

They're all a lot slower burn rate than h4198. Who knows...it might shoot but use caution and it won't have a good fill rate, if that matters to you. H4198 is like gold right now though, as it's one of the unobtainiums and is the "go to" 30BR powder.

What kind of velocity were you getting with it in 204 ?

If its unopened try to trade it too a 30br shooter it would be gone in minutes.

4198 works in the 223 with 40g bullets pretty good.

I've got 4# of IMR4198 and looking to trade or sell it for something I can use also...
