Stick S & S Precision Viper SS at Dasher DOME

Got the S & S Precision Viper SS to the range Friday. 2nd or 3rd time I every shot it. Got a 6 BR 8 Twist and 6 BR 7.5 Twist and a 30 BR barrel with the rifle. Had the 8 twist on it Friday. After bore sighting and zeroing rifle I dialed it up to 600 yd line and shot at hostage taker. First shot off at 11 o'clock. second shot off plate 2 inches at 3 oclock. Dialed scope 4 inches left to center of 5 inch hostage taker plate. Next 6 shots hit hostage taker 5 times at 600 yards. Next time my turn came up I went to the 500 yard Challenge rack and sighted in on the large plate. Then over to the Black Jack plate 2" x 3" and hit it on first shot.
I bought this rifle from Chris Covell, Texas a few years back. He told me he played golf with Stick and this was the last rifle Stick built.

I miss Stick , he was like an uncle to me . Talked me thru a couple of dark times in my time that I knew him . I believe Morgan shot that rifle at MSuttons Spanish Fort matches. It is a good rifle, she beat me that day I know, was a few years ago now.

Those Texas guys can really build some accurate rifles. I have a 6 dasher built by Omar Alonzo that has over 4500 rounds on it and shot a clean 600 the last time I competed with it.

I've also have a rifle I bought from Covell, really great shooting rifle in 6ppc, Kelblys Stolle Grizzly action bedded to a McMillan Edge stock, That day I met him at Speedy shop, since then I've had 2 barrels chambered by him. A lot of knowledge I try to pick every time I visit him at his shop.
