Thank you for replying, could I use a piece of fired brass from that barrel, since it’s a 6br ackley? To mate a known barrel with an unknown action or vice versa, it is wise to use the right tools including headspace gauges.
In a pinch. I’ve done it. With the use of CNC machines, the chances a better than the old days that it will fit with the right headspace. You’ll have to roll the dice to find out.Thank you for replying, could I use a piece of fired brass from that barrel, since it’s a 6br ackley?
Yes you could. Put clear tape on the end to increase by .002. Poor man's headspace gauge. If in doubt take it to a Smith.Thank you for replying, could I use a piece of fired brass from that barrel, since it’s a 6br ackley?
I just reread this. 6BRA on a mini, I have heard guys opening the bolt face or others cutting rims down on the 6BR brass. Curious as to which you may have.I got a question for you guys. I have a howa mini in 6bra, 2 barrels for it. If I bought another action, would I need to have the headspace checked or could I just screw one of the barrels onto the new action and go shoot? Thanks
Looks like a fun little rifle! I have been getting quite a few inquiries about working on these little bolts lately. Seems as if they are quite popular and I can see why, as the machine work on the bolts is very nice. Carry on.It’s the standard 7.62x39 / 6.5 Grendel magazine that came with the howa action. Feeds perfect, all in a mdt chassis
