6br deer bullet

Working on my new blacktail hunting gun in straight 6br. Would like to find an accurate hunting bullet somewhere around 90-100gr. Barrel is 24" 1:8 twist, so I'm good up to the 105 class bullets. Average shot will be inside of 300 yards and the deer are PNW coastal blacktail, 150lbs on the hoof is a large deer and 200 yards is a long shot.

Whats your favorite hunting bullet?

If your 300 yards and in there’s a lot of good choices. Nosler Partitions are one of my favorites for that range, Sierra SBT game kings or TGKs, Hornady SSTs, Barnes TSX are all bullets I’ve used with good success on deer and antelope out of 6mms.

I have killed a pile of them with 68 Avengers at 3350 fps.

I shot 80 grain Hillbillies this year and got bang flops. I’ll be shooting 80 grain Dominators next year and thereafter.

87 or 95 Berger HUNTING bullets would be the ONLY thing I’d consider in the range you asked about. Life is just too short to shoot big groups, even with hunting rifles.

108 Berger is great for killing deer and antelope with 6br, bra, dasher sized case. Excellent performance on animals to 500 yards at around 2880fps.
Getting to 2880 with a 24" barrel and 108s is gonna be tough on brass. I'm planning on running varget for this gun.

It's always been my opinion that at those distances and with those sizes deer... sierra, Speer, Hornady cup and core is all you will ever need to knock down a deer. Never had a problem with the traditional tech bullets.

No point in bonded, solids, shock tips, partitions or anything else. Save money and practice more, scout more, and cook more with your bounties

These Badlands 80gr Bulldozer-2's shoot great out of my 6x204 and the BC .420 isn't bad for a 80gr bullet. Minimum twist required is 1;10 so your 1:8 will be great, these mono"s love to be spun fast, it just increases their devastating performance. And they will scream out of a BR. I just had Shawn spine me up a dasher barrel for my Borden Mountaineer and this is what I'm going to run for antelope and Ca. deer. Some test loads in my 6x204 I was getting 3100+ fps, out of the BR and Dasher it will be crazy. The tipped Game Kings are pretty good if you can find them.

If you had a 1:7 twist I would go with the 100gr Super Bulldozer -2 with a of BC .600, I have a 6SST I am going to shoot these in. I also have a 1:7 CF Bartlien I am going to chamber for the Dasher for these, what a perfect combo.
