6.5x47 with 142 matchkings

Has anyone ever heard of a free bore of .1772 in a 6.5-47 lapua for the 142 sierras match? Does it seem long?

Well fellows and gals, shot the first few rounds thru the x47. I am impressed. 38.3 grains of h4350 .010 in the lands shot a 3 shot of .488 @ 300 yards. other loads were ok. This one was the best. Little excited. Anyways thanks a lot.

Good shooting. It is so easy to load for and good barrel life.

Your twist and throat will shoot the 150 SMK just fine also.

Mine loves H4350 and 142’s .01 off 7.5” twist.
As a side note there isn’t much that it doesn’t love.

This is interesting. My 6.5x47 with a new Kreiger barrel shoots 140 gr Berger VLDs at 38.4 gr H4350 and CCI 450 primers. Seated .010 off. - PopCharlie

Quick question. My son just acquired a very nice Surgeon Scalpel in 6.5x47. I was inventorying reloading components and found a box of 350 Bob Carterucio 147's i put back eons ago. I no longer shoot 6.5 since discovering the 6XC years ago. Would the Carterucio's be a good bullet to work a load up for his 6.5 x 47? I am fairly ignorant about this carteridge.

I think 147's are to heavy for a 6547.
