Cross pin holding the cocking piece on firing pin is not centered causing the pin to drag on bolt shroud. Can make for some stellar accuracy! Not!! Seen a few of these in my time.

Aha! Now I see it! The second pic looked like the part was wrapped in copper. It’s just a reflection of the hand holding it! I got it!

Looks more like a bolt shroud ... at least the top pic is definitely...

The 2nd pic is where the pin wasn't driven in all the way and bound up on the inside of the shroud.
Yes, cocking piece firing pin cross pin walked its way out in about 1200 rounds.
