Bedding question on Manners LHR stock

Stock: manners lhr M5 with arca rail
Going to attempt my first pillar/ bedding job. My question is around the recoil lug on this stock. Should a guy just add compound to the back area of the lug or build a dam with puddy so the whole lug is in compound? The screws just ahead of the lug area are for the arca rail.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on if you plan on bedding any part of the barrel shank. Some like to bed the first inch or so of the barrel shank and others prefer to float the barrel all the way to the action. I've bedded a few of these stocks recently and floated the barrel all the way to the action. But I also put some heavy 20mil pvc tape around the barrel shank and filled that void up with bedding compound. After the tape was removed the barrel was still floated and the big void was filled up nicely.

If you fill the void completely, what did you put over the screws so you could get them out if ever needed too? Just some release agent?

I took the original screw out and put a little longer one in there with release agent on it. After it was all cured I just put the original screw back in.
