It's moments like this picture that bring me closer to God....
Lots of praying!!
Ronnie Milford did a awesome job building the stock from Poplar very contrasting in colors in the boards.
Ronnie sent some drops for me to play with dye colors, starting with a really dark brown&black working through copper, orange and vintage amber.
Next I applied orange and rootbeer candy giving her that depth and richness.

Alex I worked on this stock for a couple weeks, i could tell it had a LRB butt, and then it hit me just the other day...
it's a LRB on steroids!!

Definitely a cool project to be a part of, the polar is mammoth in all directions, Ronnie “beefed” up the mid section of stock to accommodate the beast Lol.. the selection of wood though simply gorgeous in it’s finished state, I pulled some barrel work together and final fit and pillared Ronnie’s Blank , Thanks Brett for making that thing “pop”could not of finished cleaner.. the fresh polish on the polar will honk some “damn Sam” residing in shooting bags.. with some trim in spots Tommie and I met the 17 pound goal …. Excited to see what groups this old girl will form…
Tom E can chime in as to who did the the”drop port” conversion as well functions perfectly
