Thinking about trying some of the 190 gr Sub X bullets, anyone have any experience in using them hunting, and accuracy wise in .300BO, also anyone have any experience with them in sub 30/06 loads. All feedback welcom.

I saw loading data on the Hodgdon site for subsonic Sub x bullets with Benchmark. I attempted subsonic loads with benchmark and a regular 168 gr Hornady eldm. The Benchmark was no good. I got much better results with titegroup and red dot. Look down the list for a thread called 'subsonic 308 without trail boss.'

I used 175 sub x in a 300BO, both an AR and a Contender. They shot pretty good but had some trouble getting the AR to cycle. I didn't kill anything with them but they expanded enough to blow up a 2 liter bottle of water.

Yes, I've used this bullet from .300 BLK and .308 at subsonic speeds. It cycled in the .300 BLK AR and opened up as expected at 80 yards. Groups from it were about 3" at 100 yards, one hole at 50 yards. I used H110 powder, Lake City converted brass, and CCI small pistol primers.

ETA:

In .308 Winchester from a bolt-action Remington 700, it shot 4" or so at 100 yards, about 1" at 50 yards. I didn't kill anything with it, but it shouldn't make any difference vs the BLK.

Only shot it in Hornady box ammo thru my kids 300AC AR15. 16" barrel. Shot awesome. Also the factory load with the 208Amax at 100 yards gave 1/2moa groups.

Look on Hodgdon's website for DATA, And look under "PISTOL" Data not rifle data and you will find some rifle calibers that are under pistol data for sub loads like 308 win.

What powder did you use in 308 loads?
