I Went To A Gunshow, First one In Years.

At lunch today I went over to the Pasadena Convention Center to check out the Gunshow. Curiosity more than anything.

Hardly any Powder or Primers, but did stumble on these.

$45 a can for the H4895. $85 for the 205 SR Primers, and $100 for the RockChucker. No tax, no shipping, no hazmat.

With no parking fee, and $10 to get in, not bad.

By the way. I never have seen so many AR’s, AK’s, and every attachment available plus rows of Chinese build scopes.IMG_2583.jpeg

Good find . I went to one today as well and I know what you mean about all the crap on the ARs lol. Hardly ever find anything I'm interested in but scored a jewel br trigger and a pound of H 4198 last time and this time got a great deal on a nightforce 12-42 br. Most of the shows around here are the same people and same stuff every time but there might just be that one jewel at one that keeps me going back.

I've reserved two tables for a gunshow in the spring. It will be the first I have attended in about fifteen years. I have some surplus guns I can get rid of.
Last show I attended, I sold about 4 thousand worth, bought five thousand worth, and considered it a success. 75 year old guys don't need to buy a lot though, so I might do better this time! WH

Did you need to negotiate to those prices?
No negotiations. The seller knew that was a good price.
The press is used, but who ever had it didn’t use it much. It even had both LR and SR primer seaters, which I really don’t need.

One item I would have bought if he hadn’t been so over the top on price as a Model 13 S & W revolver. That is the fixed sight version of the K frame in 357 Magnum. It looked really nice, but not $1600 nice.

I've been keeping an eye out for a deal like that on one of those presses. Sooner or later I'll be in the right place at the right time

There hasn’t been any gun shows in the SF Bay Area in years. The wise politicians wanted to prevent gang bangers from being able to get K98, 03s and 1873s. In the process they have limited the availability of reloading components.
We in the Houston/Gulf Coast Area haven’t had many since Covid, but they are coming back.
I think they will be a monthly occurrence at Pasadena now. Judging from the crowd, they will do just fine.

When I get low on “real bison jerky“ I will go back to my next local gun show. Same guys, same stuff, same jerky… blah blah blah. I really hate to be so down on gun shows I used to love them back in the 1980s and 1990s but since then they have shriveled up into a piece of dried out bison jerky, at least in this Indians neck of the woods.
On a positive note, there was almost always a good looking chick or two there:D

There was a gun and knife show today at the Hernando Sportsman's Club in Florida. A couple guys bought some 6.5CM reloads from someone at the show. Tried them in their new Ruger rifles and nearly blew them up. 3 rounds in one rifle, one in the other. Blew all 4 primers and the primer pockets were greatly expanded. Powder was listed as FSP-747 @ 38 grains. Heavily etched bolt faces and an ejector stuck by a sliver of brass. I've got a pic on my phone and will see if I can upload it. Primers weren't even seated right.

I went about a month ago, haven’t been in years. It seems like many of the shows in this area, at least the smaller ones have more jewelry, jerky and chinese Indian rugs than gun related stuff so I’ve been avoiding them. All the being said I picked up a Sako A1 223 that looked like it came out of Time Machine, immaculate. That was fun.
